Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world.

Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. When you join you'll also be able to communicate privately to other members (PMs), establish and respond to polls, upload and download content and access many other special features. Default Bofak Dragonsbane

Full Name: Bofak Dragonsbane
Age: 62
Race: Shield Dwarf
Class: Fighter
Alignment: CG
Deity: Vorax

Short Bio /Description:
Bofak is the younger brother of Jhonas Dragonsbane.

Quote:
Jhonas Dragonsbane comes from a small southern clan with a long and honorable military tradition. All able-bodied adults, both men and women, receive combat training prior to starting any other trade or skill. As the clan name implies, the first Dragonsbane Clan Lord and his followers carved out their stronghold starting with the lair and treasures of a powerful red dragon that they battled and defeated. Many of the elite warriors in the Clan specialize in (Evil) Dragon-slaying to this day to honor their forebears and keep adding to and refining the knowledge they have collected on combatting dragons over the generations. While not truly mercenaries, their fighting prowess is so well-known that other Dwarven clans often request small contingents of Dragonsbane warriors to act as elite guards or military advisors. Their first loyalty is always to the Dwarven race, and they do not hire out units as mercenaries to other races. They have long been called upon to defend not only their own clan, but all Dwarven holdings due to this philosophy and martial tradition.

Bofak could not handle organization and did not do well in the Dragonsbane clan under fierce training. He spent most of his time drinking and getting in bar fights. He became well known for his ability to take a severe beating and keep standing but the clans trainers could not focus his rage and extreme constitution to the allegiance and loyalty of the clans guard. Bofak left the community as a well known, extreme drunkard and failed guardsman. Deciding rather then disgrace his father any more he would head north to find his brother and maybe visit a few taverns on the way.

//this is a resubmission of a previously approved character.. I would like to start him over with a class change (the old one has already been deleted)
