Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world.

Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. When you join you'll also be able to communicate privately to other members (PMs), establish and respond to polls, upload and download content and access many other special features. Default Mlissa

Name:Mlissa
Age: 130
Class(es):Wizard
Race:Elf
Subrace: Sun ELf
Alignment: NG
Deity: Lucinda
Short Bio / Description:

Growing up in Melnon was strange for her, she looked different then most. She knew that she was left behind, during a war of somekind, left for dead. A human family found her, and raised her. Her long flowing gold hair As time went on, she grew leiner, and and taller. Her hair became straight, instead of curly, and yet she looked like a few elves she had ever seen before.

Her family grew old, and died, her mother and father, sister and brother. When her mother died, the first to die, pass away, all she could do was lay there and weep, and hate herself for living so long. She knew that everyone she loved, those that raised her, those that loved her, would grow old and die before her eyes. She knew that she would have to painstakingly watch everyone she loved, her family, die before her eyes, slowly. As the years past on, more and more of her family grew old, and withered.

Melissa shut herself off from the world, at 80, going inside of the temple of Lucinda, seeking to become a cleric. She spent years trying to learn the divine arts but to no avail. One day her brother called for her, and she came to him, knowing he was dying. Jeramy died, soon after, just hours after she came out of the temple to see him, he told her that her sisters were already gone, and cried, crying loudly, sadly, asking her why she had abbondoned them, and left them to wither and die alone.

As her brother's eyes glazed over, old age taking him, Melissa wept, tears streaming down her cheeks. Her grey eyes looking so much greyer then before, lost, without emotion, empty. A light void that was deeper then the darkest ressests of the world. She became an emotionless body, an empty shell of a person.

With little to do, she went into studying at the temple of lucinda, amongst the tomes of power. She spent years trying to learn the arcane arts, with little success, but success there was. At nights, sometimes she could stilld be heard, weeping, sadly crying her heart out. Screaming at family members names, calling for them wishing to see them.

The Priestess of Lucinda told her it was time for her to leave, today, this day. She told her that she must find herself in the world, and become whole a again. To be a person, to live and love, and be loved, or she would sercome to what many have. Not understanding, Mlissa left the temple of Lucinda and travled to Hlint, looking for not love or someone to care for her or friends. But, for a teacher, the only things she had succeeded in life were, living to see those she cared for die, and scartching the surface of the arcane arts, and so she would learn the arts. She would live in hlint, on the streets if need be, until she found one who could teach her everything she would want to know about the arcane arts.
