Kalera was born in a small Grey Elf village deep in the mountains. She was always a pleasant child to be around, as she was help and kind to all those around her. Her parents loved her, and she loved her parents.

However, when Kalera was seven years old, a tragedy befell her family. As she watched with several of her playmates, the roof of her home, burdened by the winter snow, collapsed in and crushed both of her parents. She was still standing motionless hours later when the broken and frozen corpses of her parents were pulled from the rubble.

At the moment she saw for a fact that her parents were dead, she snapped. She reached out to the nearest of her friends as if asking for comfort and quickly snapped his neck. It took a few moments for those around her to comprehend what had happened, as Kalera had always been an innocent and kind girl. When they did realize what had happened, every adult in sight grabbed her and restrained her. It did not take much to restrain her though for she was never a strong girl.

Kalera from there was taken to a local asylum, where she grew into a beautiful, intelligent, capricious woman. She was constantly leading patient revolts against the asylum orderlies, only to turn in herself and her second to the authority. She rarely stayed on one path for long. She would be the most trustworthy, wonderful, good elf one moment, only to betray her closest friend the next; through all this she never had a doubt about what she was doing. She never thought twice and never turned back.

It was in the asylum that Kalera developed a sense of magic. The patients were never allowed any magical scrolls or texts, but Kalera found she had a bit of magic inside herself, that she could access intuitively.

It was this magic she used to escape and find her way into the open country of Layonara.

I may change the Grey Elf bit, but I think that being Chaotic Neutral is critical to this character, so I will wait for Leanther's approval (or disapproval...).
