Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world.

Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. Default Noch Lobo

Name: Noch Lobo
Age: 22
Race: Human
Class: Rogue/Ranger
Alignment: NG
Diety: Kithairien

Bio: Noch started as a simple rogue. He was young and did what his elder rogues told him. One day he was told to go steal the necklace of a high ranking noble's concubine. He snuck into the home of this mistress unaware that the noble and guards were there. When he found the necklace he was over-joyed with happiness and shouted out in approval (after all its not everyday you steal a necklace worth thousands). But, his shriek was heard and the guards and he was soon in the custody of the noble. The noble threatened to cut off his fingers or burn the bottoms of his feet so he could never sneak or steal again. Noch thought quickly and suggested that the noble should not do either of those for his best interest. He would reveal this secondary mistress to the noble's wife and to the public, ruining relations with other bussiness associates in the future. The noble explained he could simply kill him then, but Noch replied that if he did not return he would be looked for, and if he was not found the noble would be punished.

So the noble came to an agreement with Noch. Noch would snoop about in business not of his own for the Noble and after a two years service he would be free of debt. He did this for the next 2 years perfecting his skills of stealth and increasing his ability to sway the minds of others. After his 2 years were finished he enjoyed too much this way of life and came under the work of a Knight. He delivered and intercepted messages for this knight for many years and grew strong and learned how to fight. But once again things changed but this time for the better. The knight was needed elsewhere far away and would not be able to fund his workers anymore. He told Noch to speak with a man who he had befriended when he was a child. The man was well reknown and was in charge of a trading post with a small militia at his hands. He was in need of a man who was willing to face danger and years of solitude in order to keep his business running.

Noch had nothing else to do so he agreed. By this time he was 17 years old and growing strong and smarter than ever before. His goal was to live out in the wilderness and track the movements of local orc, goblin, ogre, and lizardfolk movements. He was to be discreet and go unseen. He had contact with a messager every few months but that was it. He was required to live off the land and learn to use it to his benefit. He spent 5 years out there and the patterns were always the same. But one day he got foolish and decided to see how close he could really get. He was doing fine until a shaman detected his presence. He heard the alarm and bolted away from the camp at top speed with the Lizardmen close behind. He was shot in the back by a bolt but kept running. The lizardmen did not give up pursuit. He continued to run through the forest but the blood from newly made wounds gave trail of his direction. He reached a small stream and thought he could lose them by unning along the river bed but he hesitated on which direction to take and recieved another bolt to the back of his leg sending him to his knees.

The lizardmen approached laughing and cursing at Noch while he sat helpless in the stream. They spoke something that was incoherent to Noch and the largest of the group raised a sickle and flung it down towards Noch's neck. The next thing Noch Remembers is waking in front of a great dragon with a new and rather large scar across his throat. "It's time to look for work" he said to himself, and rose to greet the great dragon.
