Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

| Randath Full Name: Randath
Age: 17
Class: Sorceror
Race: Half-Orc
Subrace: Half-Ogre
Alignment: CG
Deity: Lucinda
Short Bio/Description:
Randath is the unfortunate result of an ogre raid. His mother died giving birth to him, and obviously obviously being a half breed he was left exposed to die. He's told that this was his first use of magic... Randath called for aid knowing his life was endangered. Shortly after nightfall a follower of Lucinda appeared and stole Randath from his fate. Raised in a temple to Lucinda, Randath found he had an inborn talent for magic. Randath learned all he could, and studied, but eventually plateaued. Randath decided the only way to advance his power and knowledge more would be to wander the world, so he left.
Randath is intelligent and well spoken. He enjoys playing the dumb brute though, and learning about people. His eyes are sharp and always watching, and he misses very little.

| RE: Randath Updated Bio:
Randath's story begins before he was born. Randath is the son of an ambitious ogre mage, Zelac. Eager to rise the ranks of the clan, Zelac led a raid against a small but well fortified village. Zelac was an inspiring tactician, and managed to take the village without losing an underling. Commiting atrocities, very few people survived the bloodbath, and the few that did were taken slaves. Randath's mother was one of them. Rela was an attractive woman who happened to be the daughter and apprentice of an adventuring wizard, Jovan, who was away when the raid occured. Hearing of the attack on his home, he rushed back. Finding his family dead, but no sign of his daughter, Jovan set out to search for his daughter. After a couple weeks, Jovan found the ogre clan. Realizing he'd never survive a direct confrontation with the clan, Jovan used his magic to sneak in and steal his daughter back, and succeeded admirably. Having no home, Jovan and Zelala took refuge in a temple of Lucinda. Rather quickly it was discovered Rela was pregnant with Randath. Unfortunately, due to Randath's mixed heritage he killed his mother during childbirth. Jovan, saddened greatly, left Randath in the care of the temple and set off on revenge. It quickly became apparent that Randath had an immense natural talent for magic. Randath's training began nearly before he could talk, and came quickly almost without thought on his part. When Randath was 9 years old his life changed... Zelac had become powerful ogre high mage, and leader of his clan. He'd somehow learned of Randath and his power and felt he'd be a welcome addition to the Fire Hand Clan. Zelac led an assault on the temple, slaughtered all there, and took Randath back to the Fire Hands. Randath adapted to the life quickly, but secretly hated it. He learned from his father more magics, and went through the motions, gaining trust, as much as ogres can give at least. One day when he was 16, while Zelac was out on another raid, Randath managed to break into Zelac's inner study. There he found many interesting relics, and also a caged Fairie Dragon. He was shocked when the dragon spoke. He found out that the dragon was actually his grandfather. In his thirst for revenge he was very rash and fought Zelac. Zelac defeated him and managed to trap Jovan in the form of a fairie dragon. Jovan told Randath of his background, and Randath freed Jovan and quickly fled the clan with his grandfather. When Zelac returned he was enraged, and swore to find Randath and Jovan. Randath has been running ever since.
Description:
Randath is well proportioned and looks like large human. He's thoughtful and intelligent and tends to act like a typical dumb brute to give him time to think... It also has a tendency to let Randath know what type of person he's interacting with is. His clothes look old and worn, but on closer examination its of high quality.
