Harumph... I'll give it a go then...
"But to just leave?", Aleister threw his hands up frustrated, nearly knocking his mephit Isic from the high back of the wooden chair where he sat arguing with the ranger. "You've done so much here. The people have come to know you so well! Why just..."
"Wizard, my mind is made up..." Aarn Gamus paced back in forth in front of the wizard, gracefully dodging untidy stacks of books where layers of dust have long since found a home. He wasnt a very tall man. Light brown hair hung over his face, tan weatherbeaten skin. He'd spent most of his life roaming the woods of Torren, even as a small boy. The street urchin fled the city of Mhordiem long back after an incident with the priests of Hextor, into the Torrenwood, learning the ways of the forest and animals and living off the land. He did what he could to avoid the two cities on either side of the wood but came to befriend many of the residents of Thanador, namely the archmage Aleister. "I need new lands, new adventure. Never had I intended to settle down, especially not in within stone walls."
A long sigh came from Aleister as his bushy brows fell over his eyes, a sign of resignation. "When is it you plan to leave?"
"Captain Thenn Says theres a ship leaving in four days time. I intend to be on it. I wanted to come here and wish you well, old man. Let the others know I've left for me too."
Aleister nodded and rose from his chair, Isic yipping and sliding down in his place. He clasped the rangers arms in his own and smiled. "I know you're not the fool boy you once had me believe..so I give my blessing. Go, find what you're looking for. And when all is said and done, come back to these trees here." With that, Aarn embraced the frail wizard and turned and left the crumbling tower.
Three weeks had passed since that meeting. Aarn sat in a ball in the corner of the large merchant ship as Captain Thenn roared with laughter. "Ye'll ne'er get yer sealegs 'at way, ye bastard bahahaha"
"Captain! There she is!" a lanky fellow in the perch high on the main mast called down.
"Well bleedin'...a days ahead o time e'en. Tymora smiles on us this day! Aarn, get yer arse offa deck an have a looksee!" the captin waved his hand for the ranger to rise.
Aarns body rebelled against him as he scrawled over to the railing and peered across the dark green waters. His eyes fluttered with relief as he saw the vast expanse of land. With a pitiful look up to the captain, Aarn leaned over the rail and heaved his breakfast into the water. Mercifully, the gods allowed him to pass out on the deck for the remainder of the trip, the last thing he heard was the captains roaring laughter.
There. Hope that works. (told ya I suck :P) Anyways let me know
