Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world.

Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. When you join you'll also be able to communicate privately to other members (PMs), establish and respond to polls, upload and download content and access many other special features. Default Valacar Agarwaen

NEW SUBMISSION; NAMECHANGE FROM BOROMIR TO VALACAR.

Full Name: Valacar Agarwaen

Age: 28

Class: Cleric/Fighter

Race: Human

Subrace: -

Alignment: Lawful Neutral

Deity: Rofirein

Domains: Protection and Magic

Short Bio / Description: Born in the year 1346 in to the familyname of
Blackheart, in the city of Port Hamshire. I was raised by my father due to
the death of my mother in the beginning of the war against "Blood". We
accompanied my fathers army on a campaign towards "Bloods" hordes.

My father was a high ranking officer who lived by three simple rules; Valor,
diciplin and duty. He wasn´t a religous man although Vorax was the selfwritten
deity for a man at arms of his rank. When he was lost during a costal patrol
were his whole batalion parised (some say they were led in to an ambush, by whom
or why no-one knows) I found myself out on the street. Our house were lost to a
corrupted cityemployee allied with the organized merchants who claimed it due to
an old questionable debt. Theese events made me seek refugee at a temple of Rofirein
where a stayed for only a short period of time. Beeing a cleric wasn´t my calling but
my time at the temple thought me the importance of law, and the meaning of a strong
uncorrupted gouverment in order to maintain civilization. One might say it restored
and improved my belief in the law. I left the temple at the age of 26 to find my true
calling.

As I´ve lived to see war and corruption upfront and thanks to my fathers ongoing tales
of fighting battles, bravery, valor and honor, duty, betrayel and stories of cowards on
the battlefield. This in addition with my time in the clergy of Rofirein I´ve learned to
take care of my self, put my faith to the law and becoming an independent man with a
facination of weapons and war. I´ve also grown a natural hatred towards corruption, cowards,
betrayel and weakness.

I´ve also (partially due to my upbringing but also by my own experience) grown to look down
upon half-orcs, gnomes and halflings. Due to the lack of calming dialog and discussions with
the clergy since I left it have made me create my own interpretation of virtue and honor. My
love for upholding the law although it failed me in my time of need theesedays sometimes
manifests in an almost extreme and fascist manor. "Since I´ve managed to overcome the losses
and injustice in my life so can anyone". My motto is; "Help those who help themselfs". Theese
thoughts could, if pushed, shift my alligment towards evil.

For now my motivation is to travel the world of Layonara, do great and in my perspective honorable
deeds. With vengence strike down on traitors, useless cowards, parasites and other weak links in
society and in general. If possible during my journeys find my long lost brother who disapered when
my mother was killed many years ago, although that is only a minor goal of mine.

One could think that the name Blackheart would suite me fine but due to the events in my life I´ve
taken the name Agarwaen, whitch means Bloodstained in an ancient language spoken by my forfathers.

End of bio.
