As a child “mishaps” seemed to follow Mercedes where evershe went. Even in her sleep randomobjects would occasionally combust, causing much distress to her parents. Regardless of what happens nobody could somuch as to raise their voice to such a sweet and charming girl. Since she showed promise in the arts of magicher parents sent her to the wizards academy in the hopes that she could harnessher powers. The halls of the academy andrigorous class schedule proved to be too confining for this vigorous youth, andafter a year she refused to continue.ÂInstead she found solace wandering the woods and taking small “adventures”. It was during one of these excursions thatshe met a strange old dwarf named Duronet secluded in a levitating hut in anobscure corner of the woods. The twoseemed like polar opposites, she being “chatty” and full of vigor, and him asteadfast and reserved individual. Still,for some reason they enjoyed each others company. When she pried enough, Duronet would speak ofwondrous tales in far away lands where fierce and beautiful beasts roamed whichfed Mercede’s natural inquisitiveness. Toher surprise the dwarf had an uncanny knack for conjuring up magic, but it wasn’tthe same kind of stodgy magic taught in the academy, instead it seemed to flowat his command, with a remarkable resemblance to... herself. ÂThus, herapprenticeship as a sorceress began. 12years passed and Duronet passed away due to his old age and sickness. Mercedes was left without a dear friend, buthis legacy of wild and amazing tales still lives within her memory today. (I'd like to have her piece together some of Duronet's past history etc. I'll try to come up with some ideas as I develop her) (also her skin is slightly darker than most elves, but nobody has told her why)
