Short Bio/Description:
Ammon was raised as a simple farmer. His father, and his father before him, were farmers and pasturers, tilling and planting the fields. During early years, Ammon grew strong from the harvest, and practiced fighting skills against dummies made of wood, dreaming of the day that his father would set him free to roam upon the world and seek to be the hero he desired to become. Ammon was not born for farming, and his parents knew that well. His strength was in rapid movements of the strike, surely not in slow and laborous work facing the earth. He was nicknamed 'Thrice-Blessed' due to being strong, healthy, and dexterous all at once. His heart is good, his passion for adventure alive, and the day has finally dawned when his father tells, "Rise up, my son; go out into the World, and do well! Defeat all evil that you can, and then come back to us, and tell me of your many wonderous adventures. Farewell! You have my blessing -- but be careful."
Ammon leaps to his feet, grasps the shortsword and small shield from off the wall, gives his father and mother a gratious bearhug, and runs out the door! A half mile later, he realizes that he didnt bring any preserved rations. Then, searching his clothing, he notices a small bag in his pocket. "Gods bless them," he says under his breath, for they left him an inheritance: 50 gold pieces! That much might be a trifle to a king, but to a farmer, it is a fortune. Singing the songs of the traveller, in gratitude, Ammon Thrice-Blessed changes his heading towards the nearest township, tossing the small bag of fortune back and forth between his hands. This was a glorious day, and he hoped that, perhaps, more days to come might bring him greater glory. |
