Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world.

Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. Default Aristotle von Maranza de Burre-Setari

Name: Aristotle von Maranza de Burre-Setari
Age: 35 (?)
Class: Fighter/sorceror
Race: Human
Subrace: Tiefling
alignment: Chaotic Good
Deity: Lucinda

Bio:

Aristotle appears to be a human male of around 30 years of age, he is of slight build and is around 6' tall. He has sandy brown hair and lightly tanned skin, with delicate, almost female features. His voice is soft and musical and his movements are economical, having a grace that goes almost unoticed, except that he seems to be able to move very quickly when the occasion demands, without ever hurrying. Studying him closely it will become apparent that his pupils are a slightly more yellow colour than ever appears in a normal human, and his finger nails, while definately not claws, are more pointed than nails ought to be.

He travels at random, rarely having a specific destination in mind, trusting to his goddess to see that he is in the right place to acomplish whatever task she has planned for him, he has no memories of growing up from childhood, he simply remembers being the same as he is now, he does not know if he ages or even what he is, his memories stretch back like a forest path, gradually becoming obscured by the undergrowth the further back he attempts to see.

He is not unduly worried by his past, he knows that he is a good person and feels sure he has never done any harm to the undeserving, he lives his life in the now, never mourning what has gone, nor fearing what is to come, he can make a lively companion, can be loyal and fearless almost to the point of foolhardiness if he feels it is justified by his cause, his personal code is complicated and he can apear to judge people abitrarily or or unfairly occasionally, but in his eyes, he will always favour the good and the innocent.

I hope to play him as a dex based fighter who wears light or no armour and uses some form of exotic weapon, maybe a kukri or katana, or possibly a whip. I shall be buying fighter levels, and hopefully at some point in the game, i will gain the oppertunity to discover his "magical" abilities, and take some levels of sorceror, eventually ending up as around a 50/50 split between the two.

I will play him in a happy go lucky kind of way, as a character who enjoys his life and looks forward to the next adventure, he will see himself as doing his godesses will and helping those who he sees as deserving of help, and trying to see an end to those who would do evil or harm to others, i shall make him slightly unpredictable and he will hopefully travel from group to group, rather than staying with one set of companions his whole life.

I hope he will be an amusing and usefull companion to have along on an adventure, and im hoping i can make enough of an impression that he will be mentioned sometimes afterwards by those he meets along the road.

any questions or suggestions greatfully recieved.

hope thats an ok submission from a newb to this world.
