Bio:

As a boy, Nil's parents disappeared mysteriously. In order to survive, he found himself employed by a number of the locals doing odd jobs. Most jobs were completely legitimate, but over time, due to their more lucrative nature, he found himself involved in an increasing number of illicit activities. He was never instructed in the morals of good vs. evil, and had no problems with the ethics involved: all he knew was that he could make money more quickly through shady dealings.

He wasn't particularly athletic, but was quick to learn the tricks of the trade, and was convinced early on that wits and magic suited him more than stealth or arms. His clumsiness often prevented him from participating in the more common rogue activities, so he sought arcane methods to perform these tasks. He became very interested in magic, and used his spare money to purchase tattered scrolls and training from a local wizard.

He was seldom caught by his targets, and if so was often able to talk his way out of uncomfortable situations. However, recently he failed to fulfill his end of a business deal with a very hot-headed [and fairly powerful] colleague. Instead of risking his neck trying to explain himself, he has decided to run. His ex-partner's band of miscreants has been on the lookout, so he has assumed a different name and past, and has been traveling incognito for the better part of a year.

Nil's true name is Trey Seldari. If probed about his past, he replies that he was raised on a farm across the sea, but at age 17 decided to set forth and learn about the world. He uses this to explain his wandering, and can make up a false story about his travels to easily fit within his fabricated personal history.
