Short Bio/Description:

Vorlingath is the product of a stern father and a clinging cloying mother. His father has always wanted him to go into the family business - that of a heroic adventurer, at least according to his father. You may have noticed by now the surname Arndrethis. Yes, he is related to THAT Arndrethis, the famous hero adventurer. Vorlingath was raised on stories of his great great grandfather (the hero and adventurer) until he was sick of them. His father tried to carry on the tradition somewhat, but ended up being just a big dumb guy with a sword. His father worked as a mercenary around Leilon for whomever could pay.

Vorlingath's mother took in sewing, and washing from others, and this is how Vorlingath learned to sew... and knit... and crochet, and became as nimble-fingered as he is.

With his father being determined that Vorlingath would take up the "family business" he began to train him in swordsmanship and martial arts at an almost obscenely early age. This is why Vorlingath has to this day an almost paralytic fear of blades and hates being touched.

After years of being subjected to his mother and father's vocations, he finally decided to take the plunge and go out into the world. So at the tender age of 27 (hard to get away from a clinging mother), he ventured into the world, eventually hooking up with a traveling carnival. During his time with the show, he did every dirty filthy chore imaginable. He was made to clean up after all sorts of animals, but spent every moment of free time with the 'Great Horvatho'.

During his "apprenticeship" with Horvatho he learned all manner of wondrous things, opening up an entire new world to his eyes. Unfortunately, Horvatho only knew the meanest most petty form of gutter magic, designed only to fool the rubes. Horvatho was a charlatan, not a wizard. However, Horvatho had a lot of scrolls, and Vorlingath had something event better: raw talent. Vorlingath had a feel for the flow of magical energy that very few at his age ever do.

Vorlingath parted company with the carnival very expeditiously late one night, in the middle of a disastrous fire. This is a subject that, if pressed upon, he will claim it was just an accident and not his fault... and besides, he was miles away... and he knows nothing about it anyway.

Vorlingath, due to the vat in which he was cooked; (i.e. his parents,
the carnival, Horvatho, and the monkey keeper when he was in his cups) is a little bit off center.
He is nervous to a fault. He is a perfectionist. He is a worrywart. He is extremely anal-retentive. He is perhaps a bit compulsive... (No! There is a spot of rust on your battle axe! We cannot leave until we buff that out!) He pays attention to detail. He is bookish and always making a comment about something. Once his loyalty is earned, he will follow you into battle as long as the odds aren't too bad and there is cover. LOTS of cover!
