Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

| Suzuki Kaiju, also known as Kai the Wanderer Suzuki Kai, also known as just Kai or Kaiju, grew up in a small elven village not far from Layonara. He lived under the tutelage of a Bladesinger named Naga Kahn, and trained under him for most of his adolecence. Suzuki eventually taught himself a new style of Bladesinging, but renamed it Spell Sword. His master told him to practice with all weapons while he watched, and he proved excellent with the Katana. But one day, the village was attacked by a shadow dragon, which no one could stand against. Naga tryed his hardest to defend the village, but the most he did to it was knock a portion of his claw off. The dragon laughed at his attempt and tore him to pieces infront of Suzuki. Stunned, scared, and still young, he ran in fear. After he regained his posure, he decided to exact revenge on the dragon, traveling the road alone, willing to die for this cause. He went back and took the claw fragment, and made a necklace out of it to remind him of his goal.
I also want to request Spell Sword as my prestige class, if it isnt too much.

| RE: Suzuki Kaiju, also known as Kai the Wanderer Name: Suzuki Kaiju
Age: 121
Race: Wild Elf
Classes: Fighter/Sorcerer/Spell Sword
Diety: Kithairen
Bio: See Above
By the way, no offence to the rules or anything but I noticed the GMs and the rules are pretty stricted. That probably scares off alot of players, is there a reason that evil is restricted? I hate being the stereotypical "good guy", and it doesnt make much sense that you can start out good but not bad. Is it not possible to have a evil background and be evil? I understand you need rules to keep the game a good rp server, but maybe you should lighten up the rules a little. Other then that I have no complaints.

| RE: Suzuki Kaiju, also known as Kai the Wanderer Oh my class levels are going to be Fighter5/Sorcerer5/SpellSword10, and with the expansions Fighter15/Sorcerer15/SpellSword10
Not sure if this matters, read the rules a little bit ago, and read something about having to put your class levels and such.

| RE: Suzuki Kaiju, also known as Kai the Wanderer Alignment: True Neutral
Suzuki parents were killed by bandits when he was very young. He survived by hiding in the wine cellar they had, he then went back upstairs when he got silent and found his parents slaughtered. Feeling angry and sad, he wandered the grasslands, where he lived off the wild for about 10 years of his life. Then one day Naga found him sleeping in some bushes, and took him to his home, where he raised him.
After the incident with the shadow dragon, he was attacked by a black knight while traveling. He had no idea who this man was, and the battle went on for hours, eventually Suzuki succumbed to fatigue from traveling and fighting for so long. The knight was about to lay the final blow, when a black panther appeared and attacked the knight. The knight, also battle weary, had to flee. Suzuki then decided to protect this panther, and they grew together like brothers.

Also I read in 2 diffrent topics that requesting prestige classes will be answered with no, and the other said they would approve it. Im still confused about it, so if I could just get a straight yes or no, that would be alot easier. Im hoping for a yes because then my background really doesnt make sense.

| RE: Suzuki Kaiju, also known as Kai the Wanderer One more thing, is it possible to have a class change? Im a fighter/sorcerer but I feel like my background makes more sense if I was a Ranger/Sorcerer. If not its fine, but Im just wondering if it would be possible. Thank you. | | |

| RE: Suzuki Kaiju, also known as Kai the Wanderer There is not enough in this characters bio to support the subrace of wild elf. What is it about the subrace that is integral to the character as opposed to just making him an elf? Please add some more detail before this will be approved. | | |

| A few questions:
How much interaction with GMs have you had except for with me who noticed you online already at Level 2 and told you you need to submit a character bio and you can't be CN off the bat?
Did you even read the posts on why we have these restrictions on evil players?
Who said you need to be the stereotypical good guy?
Why does it not make sense that you can start out good but not bad?
Do you really think it's your place to say we should lighten up a little when you've played our world all of a few hours?
As for scaring off a lot of players. I think we do pretty good as it is anyway.

| RE: Suzuki Kaiju, also known as Kai the Wanderer An addendium to Orth's post. They are in place because we have three years of experience of running a community that we want on this server. This community is very strong in RP and comradery and these rules are a big reason why it is that way. | | |

| RE: Suzuki Kaiju, also known as Kai the Wanderer Sorry if I offended you Orth, it wasnt really the GM's but just the rules. I respect the rules though because thats what keeps the RPing so good.
Well, Suzuki's father was a Ranger, he met his mother when he was protecting a druid grove, as she was a druid. They loved each other greatly, and had Suzuki and another boy by the name of Leidahan. It is believed that those bandits that killed his parents kidnapped him to put him in slavery. Hes also on a journey to find his brother. And also thats how he survived off of the wild. Hes has a deep tan, has black and blue tattoos all over, and enjoys sitting outside and smoking his pipe.
Am I missing anything else?

You can keep a character development thread and resubmit an updated bio when you are ready to start taking spellsword levels. Also when recreating your character please keep in mind that the subrace stats will be applied AFTER character creation. orth has already deleted the character you began previously so you should be good to go on creating this one.
