| Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. | Kilo Name: Kilo Race: Elf Subrace: None Class: Monk Age: Unknown but somewhere around 100 (I’ll be more precise upon creation) Deity: Vorax Alignment: LN Short Bio/Description:
Kilo has no memory of his life prior to the year 1357. It was in that year that he was found by a group of monks, monks of “The Brothers of Battle” no less, bound for Shoufal.
When the monks first found this elf, quite small and fragile they took him merely so he wouldn’t freeze to death in the cold mountainous air, intending to drop him off at a temple or Inn in FortVelensk and move on. Only when they picked up the young elf, deep in reverie did they realized that even in the freezing cold air, he was not cold, he was warm, hot even.
Moving swiftly through the mountains, with speed and strength that only monks of great skill can achieve they brought him to Shoufal. Laying the elf in a bed next to a fire the monks waited for him to awaken, and when he finally did they found there was no much to it.
The boy was lost, traveling through the mountains. He didn’t know where he was from but he hadn’t been traveling long. Showing great curiosity and love for the dwarven city he kindly asked to stay. After a while of converging the dwarves agreed and took the young elf into their care.
For years he lived with the dwarves, nameless. Simply 'the elf,’ or 'that boy.’ Doing chores about the small monastery he earned his meals and bed. It was only one day while mopping a dirty floor that the monks found the elven lad expressing his desire to learn the monk’s combat styles.
Mopping the floor back and forth he stopped abruptly as a monk passed and began to twirl it. Water splashing against the walls he spun the staff like mop with no skill what-so-ever, yet he did it with great heart and strength.
Again after five years of living with the in the monastery with the elf the monks converged and decided that they would teach him limited defensive and offensive katas and stances.
It was not long before the young elf earned his name. Kilo they called him, for the dwarves said that despite his 'weak’ arms he could punch you with the force of a thousand pounds. However his training soon came to a halt. The dwarves gave him respect for learning all that he had, however they would teach him no further. “Some wisdom,” they said, “is only for The Brothers of Battle, and so must it remain.”
One day handing Kilo a set of robes, boots, and a belt they told him to leave and find his own enlightenment, and so he did or would have if it hadn’t been for a certain gold dragon and his peculiar hobby of plucking people from the ground and plopping them in Hlint with a mission that most would laugh at...
Height: 4’8 Weight: 86lbs Eyes: Ebony and Gold Hair: Red //I want a character that I can just RP with. I have Tath who is great for adventuring, RP, questing all that good stuff. But occasionally I’d just like to RP, and I’d also like to get to know some of the newer players, and playing the cynical kinda not good guy gets old after people stop responding to it //
