Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

| Submitting Daeron Stormcloud Full Name: Daeron Stormcloud
Age:35
Class(es): Mage (generalist)
Race: Human
Alignment: Neutral
Deity: Lucinda (will take deity as soon as he learns of her when arriving in Layonara)
Bio/Description:
Hgt: 1,87 meter
Weight: 78 kilo
Hair: Black (maby with a touch of grey)
Skin: Regular flesh-colored and a little bit pale.
Clothing: Prefers red robes, and always covers his head with a hood.
Daeron Stormcloud is new to the world of Layonara. He orginaly hails from another plane with a world that is also inhabited with humans. The teaching of magic is widespread on his world, but they don't identify it with a specific goddess. Early of age, Daeron's had been identified with the 'talent' and was soon placed under the tutelage of a competent mage, called Arto Del, also called 'Gatebinder'. A nickname given because of his love of planar travel.
During his training Arto taught him on his own vision, how magic can be used to make the world prosper. Daeron took these teachings with great fervor and gave a lot of attention on Arto's teachings on how to create magical items. He realized that by these items, magic could more easily be used by less talented humans. Daeron´s orginal last name was Mendt, after his parents. But he got his new name ´Stormcloud´ from Arto, because of his ill temper if one of his spells went awry.
After his training was complete Arto took him on a long trip to study the nature of the planes. At one time they arrived on a plane even Arto had never visited before. They found themselves in the middle of a battle between evil demons and good archons. His teacher commanded him to hide, feeling an obligation to join those fighting the demons. After the battle was over Daeron began looking for his tutor amid the many casualties. He finally found his teacher amid the carnage, soaked in his own blood. Arto was still breathing, but new his end was near. Realizing that Daeron didn't possessed the knowledge to get back home himself, he quickly started instructing Daeron in the use of one of his devices that could shape portals. But before he was done he blew his last breath and died, leaving Daeron with a limited knowledge of how to use the device. He knew how to open a portal, but he didn't know how to control the direction of the portal.
After Daeron buried his former teacher's body, and gave his prayer to Lucinda, he took off, trying to find his way home. Almost a decade Daeron spent traveling the planes trying to find his home. In these years he continued to develop his understanding of the art, but never achieved to find spells relating to portals.
The last time Daeron used the device to travel, he arrived in the world of Layonara. Upon his arrival the device desintegrated into tiny motes of ligh, the last of the magic finally released. Layonara is the first world Daeron found that resembles his homeworld. Since his device was no more, Daeron decided to give up and settle for this world. He is not yet familiar with the history of Layonara. His first intent is settle down in a small village and spend his time in crafting magic items and distributing them.
Daeron initially takes a neutral stand in his dealings with the people of Layonara, because of his own experience with battle between good and evil and the result in his loss of is teacher. He does value friendship, greatly desiring human company after his years of exile in the planes. He will initially try to stay out of what he calls ´political affairs´, but when his help is needed from his friends he will have no doubts whatsoever.
Another interesting trade of Daeron is his affinity with Outsider. His exile to the planes has left him with a practical nature regarding dealing with outsiders, and he will have no problem with summoning fiends and demons to force information out of them or bending there minds to his cause. His experience in Layonara will influence whether he will settle down for ever or will still try to reach his own world.

| RE: Submitting Daeron Stormcloud Lucinda doesn't have much influence outside Layonara, so I would suggest simply removing her from the beginning of the bio. Daeron can become her follower once he arrives to Layonara or he can be deityless.
Also all characters in Layonara start at level 1. The person the bio describes is too talented to be a level 1 character, so you will need to tone it down some.

| RE: Submitting Daeron Stormcloud OK, I've given him the age of 38 and lessened his exile to a decade and removed his longevity (not yet an issue at 38 years). I also changed the deity.
Oh and one more thing. Since he spent in so much time planejumping I'd like him to speak Celestial, Abyssal and Infernal.

| RE: Submitting Daeron Stormcloud Approved.
Asking for all three language ears on character creation might not be acceptable. I'll think about it a while longer and give you a decision on the ears later. If you do not hear from in a while, bug me trough a PM or something.

| RE: Submitting Daeron Stormcloud You may have Celestial and one other that you choose.
What is the other one you want,ÂAbyssal or Infernal?
On the third one you may RP it in game and you will probably get it fairly quickly (being an intelligent mage and your back history etc.) but you will need to RP it heavily--research books, listen to those that speak it etc. And then you can have the 3rd one in about 4 RL months (if it is RP'd).
Fair enough? Let us know which one you want for your second choice.
