Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world.

Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. Class Fighter/Cleric ( looking to become an Undead Slayer)
Race:Human
SubRace: Aasimar
Alignment:NG
Deity :Lucinda (with a deep respect for Vorax and his teachings)

The wind howled as the sky grew dark and the cold rain battered down upomn the old thatch roof of her small room. The shutters tired from years of service groaned as they fought to keep themselves closed through yet another storm. Alyssa could not sleep and she slipped out of bed. She moved to the dresser and combed her long silver hair, her siver eyes stared back at her holding secrets that she could not find answers for, as she lost herself in her thought she turned when she heard the old doorknob turn and then the door open and slam close and the deep fitfull coughs of Bar'Tok in the main room. Alyssa smiled as she stepped into the warm room and looked upon the elderly dwarf as he threw down a load of firewood and wrung the water from his beard. He smiled to her and chuckled as he limped over to pour himself an ale and then made his way to the large chair that stood next to the fire.

Bar'Tok was old even by dwarven standards and how he had come to this small village no one could really remember. Some say he fell in love with a young human here, yet some say he settled down here after many good fortunes from his adventuring days, and it would be best to live in a small human village to throw off those who wanted revenge. Yet still there were many more rumors, but all Alyssa knew was that he had taken care of her all of her life and taught her to be strong and to fight. Though this made her father Bar'Tok happy it put her at a distance from the other girls and boys from the village. When they talked about crushes, farms and dreamy heros or lusty woman, Alyssa wanted to talk about battle tatics and the finer arts for war and troop movement, yet it seemed that all the boys wanted to do was follow her around. It was then that she decided to keep herself close to home and in doing this she had learned more than any girl from the village could have about the world from her father's tales. This night had been like every other, with Alyssa always unable to sleep and Bar'Tok keeping the fire warm for her and providing a sense of security for her. She never knew why she could not sleep during the storms, but it always brought to her a sense of excitment and thrill. Though she had overcome it years ago, it was always there. Alyssa smiled as the old dwarf began to snore and she softly kissed him on the forehead and slipped back into her bedroom and slept, knowing that her protector was near.

Alyssa awoke later that night thinking she heard the wind moaning and was about to fall back asleep when an explosion of wood and a scream of deep anger ripped Alyssa from the realm of sleep and she scrambled from her bed to the door. she flung it open to see a sight that sent her cowering in fear. There was Bar'Tok, swinging his axe with a fury unseen slicing what appeared to be the living dead. They came at him and groned as if driven by an inate hunger. Bar'Tok's axe ripped into the undead and they soon fell clear of the door, Alyssa ran from her bedroom and grabbed a small sword that was by the hearth and came to her father's aid.

"Child" He cried as he spat the rotten flesh from his blade. " Go to the wood shed and take cover in thee and whatever you do do not get any daft ideas about trying to help me, NOW GO!". Bar'Tok shoved her toward the stout wood shed that he had built this past summer and she rushed to it and locked herself in it. The light of house spilled out of the broken door as she watched her father charge out and cleave into the undead, his axe in one hand and a blazing torch in another. He screamed and snarled as the undead fell to his axe and ignited from his torch. Minutes passed, then hours until Alyssa heard nothing and she crept out of the wood shed and stumbled into the darkness of night. She ran following the carnage and paused by the field gates as the moon danced in and out of the clouds, giving the wheat a unearthly appearance. She looked around and quickly grabbed the scythe that she had put there a day ago and continued to follow the trail of carnage, and paused when she heard the familiar sound of coughing. She rushed foward to find her father leaning against an old stone wall his axe beside him along with scores of undead. She rushed to his side and checked for any wound. It was still dark and she couldn't see anything and just wished that she had light when it erupted from her and filled the area in a soft white glow, as she did this Bar'Tok grabbed her arm gently and whispered to her.

"Lass, you know I not be your true father, but I did know your mother. She was a fine and beautiful lady, strong and true to herself. She was special in a a way that she was blessed by the heavenly powers. She loved this place and wanted to raise you here as she was herself was and I came here with her to see that she was settled in before I moved on to my kin. But on the night we arrived, I had had to much to drink and fell into a deep sleep, it it was during that time, I failed her and we were beset by a horde of undead, like you saw this night. I do not know how long she fought, but when I awoke it was to the sound of a screaming baby and the buzzing of flies. Thats when I saw you mother dead by the door with a score of undead at her feet.Since that day I took an oath to me god Vorax, and that of your mothers Lucinda that I would watch over you till your were able to take care of yourself." Bar'Tok coughed harshly and grabbed his chest and waited a few moments before speaking once again. " I am afraid my time here on this realm is done daughter, and I hope that I have prepared you for the world that awaits, be it good or bad, I must go." Bar'Tok squeezed her hand and then he lay still. Alyssa stayed there with him till morning and brought him home and after gathering her belongings she took one last look at the small house and then flung a torch into the doorway. The flames rose high and soon it was engulfed in the angelic gold of the flames, her father's body lay inside, finally able to return to his kin.

Alyssa turned away and headed down the road that would lead away from the world she knew. There was nothing left for her here and she had all she owned in her pack and had decided to take the scythe with her as well. She made one stop along the way. It was a long forgotten trail, that she had found by following her father one day. It led to a small house. The forest had taken over the house and she had always wondered why he had come here. She moved along the small iron fence and opened the gate. Gardens wild now still held the essence of its once cared for beauty. She moved along the grounds and entered the small cottage. It was empty save for some old furniturs and bones of animals long past. Heading to the back of the house she found a small well cared for grave and she bent down to look at it closely. Her fingers traced the words upon it and a tear fell from her eyes as she read the name aloud.

"Syrendal StormWeaver. Beloved friend and beloved mother."
"Paladin of Lucinda"

Her head sunk low and her chest tightned as thousands of question came to her, but there would be no answers. She wiped the tears from her eyes and spoke softly to her mother, for the first time in her life and waited for a response that would never come. She stood and left the house that she had always wondered about and once again headed down the road. She knew her next stop would be the Temple of Lucinda, then to the Temple of Vorax

Good job. You missed the domains for your cleric levels so please show those.
Once I see those this character will be approved. Keep in mind you may not submit for a PrC at character creation and it must be RP'd in game and later you can apply to have it--a character development thread will help your request. Also keep in mind that you need to have 5 levels in each class, at a minimuim.
