| Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. When you join you'll also be able to communicate privately to other members (PMs), establish and respond to polls, upload and download content and access many other special features. | Chad Darkreach Full Name: Chad Darkreach
Age: 23
Class(es): Rogue
Race: Human
Subrace: Tiefling
Alignment: CG
Deity: None
Short Bio/Description:
In times of war, abandoned into the darkness in early years, it almost looked like there was no future for him. It turned out to be a myth, as even after being surrounded by terror and total destruction for several days, he was found completely sane. So, one doesn't wonder about his attraction to the arts of darkness. However, it is said that his Tiefling roots must have given him the power to survive.
He was recovered by a member of a small, unknown fraternity, who brought him to their monastery. In the following years he learned a lot of practices, including the basic use of magic devices and he also learned about their moral, which made him solely good after all, regardless of his Tiefling ancestors. But, he also always knew that one day he had to leave that place so he could get further into his real designation. Truly it has been deep inside him to become what he is now.
So, when he was 17, he thankfully left the monastery, holding his tutors in respect. On his journey through the lands of Milstone, he has been introduced into fighting with weapons and after some time he has choosen the rapier as his weapon of choice, because of its simple elegancy.
But then, with 19 years, his true mentor Quinntynan, a great master of shadow arts, found him. He has watched him for quite some time until then, somehow knowing what Chad is, and what he can become. Also, Quinn only has one disciple at a time. Chad is really proud of having him as a teacher, altough he is mysterious and not showing up very often. Quinn's role is to teach him fundamentals and to lead him to the right path.
Now, with 23, he is learning by practice, as Quinn told him.

| Tiefling Heritage He is part human, part something else, which he does not know of, as he was very young when his parents left him.
He still looks quite normal, despite of his grey, almost black skin, which makes him almost look somehow like a drow.
Unlike other Tieflings, he is not evil, because of his long time in the monastery, which has set up his basic alignment.
Rather, his tiefling roots embody in his class profession.
