Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world.

Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. Default Jharl

Full Name: Jharl
Age: 40
Class(es): Barbarian(15)/Bard(5)
Race: Half-Elf
Alignment: Chaotic good
Deity: N/A
Bio/Description: Jharl is a member of a small nomadic clan of barbarian warriors that resides in a remote valley somewhere in the greypeaks. The clan is predominately human but there are a few half-elven sprinkled in. A clan members' loyalty and fighting prowess are what matters to this hardy band. This clan follows no set religion, but they have adopted the Scarlet Hawk as their totem.
Yet, being half-elven does confer some prestige in this tribe. The natural racial longevity, the enhanced ability to hear and see, and their fair voices mean that they have positions of leadership. They are in effect the tribes' shamans. In all probabilty, Jharl, who is the youngest of the half elves might somday be the head shaman. To this end, he has been 'schooled' in all of the tribes rituals and lore.
The Scarlet Hawks are in trouble however. Of late, the game they depend on for survival has decreased dramatically, the orcs and goblins have become more numerous and disease has swept through the tribe.
Because of this, Jharl, the youngest of the three half-elves remaining in the clan, has been sent into the wider world to seek answers and lore that might help the clan's survival.
He has been on the road about a month now, traveling quickly and quietly, observing what he may. Now, he has arrived at some sort of settlement that seems bustling with human, elven, and drawven activity. Maybe he can find some help or answers here. Jharl, picks up his pack and warhammer and heads into town..
Jharl has no outward appearance of being a half-elf, just looks to be another tough warrior. He has however a very fair voice that he uses to sing warrior ballads of inspiration in the clans' local dialect.
