Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world.

Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. When you join you'll also be able to communicate privately to other members (PMs), establish and respond to polls, upload and download content and access many other special features. Default Mar

Full Name:Mar
Age:18
Class:Fighter10/monk10/
Race:Human
Subrace:none
Alignment:Lawful good
Deity:none
Bio/Description:Mar has often acted as a paladin even with no god he has acted in the name of all things good. He was raised in a temple of monks but never took to thier unarmed style, intsead he prefered to use his two bladed scimitar. He did however, take to thier high speed combat style that they used when they took to thier quarter staves. He found that his scimitar was superior to thier quarteer staves in combat when he defeated every monk by cutting thier staves in half. He knew it to be time to advance in life so he sought the teachings of a true master monk.

Mar left the temple and wandered around looking for master monk to teach him. After a month or two he found a half-orc fighting of nearly a dozen goblins. When he tried to help the half-orc performed a move only the strongest of monks knew. He performed a circle kick and killed all the goblins at once. Mar was amazed with the precision of the half-orc and asked if he would teach him. The monk accepted and tought him his ways. The monks name was Bok. After years of training with Bok he decided to bid his master farewell and went out to seek a true home.

Mar found his way into Hlint and honed his skills in the forests that surrounded it. He stopped goblin and orc attacks before they reached town and since there were never any witnesses he went unthanked. He often took jobs like cutting wood for crafters or providing protection for the traders. He grew to hate goblins for thier attacks on the trade routes and sometimes killed the traders or thier horses. Sometimes he became enraged and threw himself into the enemy camps and slaughtered the enemy mercilessly.

When not in battle Mar liked to observe the other citizens to see thier favored weapons. He saw that many dwarves prefered axes and hammers while elves prefered rapiers and other light weapons. The halflings liked thier hands or light weapons. He noticed that only one other used a two bladed scimitar or something that looked like one, but every time he went over to ask about him he had dissapeared.

Though Mar seldom thought about it he never knew who his true parents were being raised by monks and all. But lately the question has been coming into his mind more often each day. Now he has been driven to think of nothing but who his parents where and set out to find them. So he trained even harder than ever before. One night after he slipped into a deep sleep he was viseted by a dragon in his dreams...

You are allowed a max of six characters in the server vault, thus far i have found your account contains seven and then this application. One of your characters needs to be removed, and another if you wish this one to be approved also.

I decided to change his Fighter barbarian to Fighter monk. I understand the multi classing rules of monks and will not stray from monkhood until I'm through being a monk.

//Is it possible to start as a fighter but then take monk as my second level? If not then ill stick with fighter till tenth

Approved as a Fighter/Monk.

You your first level is a fighter level you need at least five fighter levels before you start advancing as a monk. Also if you decide to stop advancing as a monk and going back to the fighter class you will need a good RP reason to do so.
