| Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Isioviel was always in search of knowledge. Even as a child, she could be found in the libraries of her home, and the nearby archwizard Alvania Me'daria's tower. When she was in a high emational state, strange things would happen around Isioviel. Her parents took notice of this, and she was taken to the healers. There was nothing that they could do. As a last effort, her parents sent her to to the archwizard, who dertermined the cause of these occurrances was an unchecked talent in the arcane. Isioviel gladly accepted Alvania's offer to apprentice under her. When Isioviel came of age, she left her home and travelled across the lands of Layonara, seeking to expand her knowledge.

ok.. heres an expanded Bio:
Isioviel was always in search of knowledge. Even as a child, she could be found in the libraries of her home, and the nearby archwizard Alvania Me'daria's tower. When she was in a high emotional state, strange things would happen around Isioviel. Her parents took notice of this, and she was taken to the healers. There was nothing that they could do. As a last effort, her parents sent her to to the archwizard, who dertermined the cause of these occurrances was an unchecked talent in the arcane. Isioviel gladly accepted Alvania's offer to apprentice under her. When Isioviel came of age, nearly 50 years ago, she left her home and travelled across the lands of Layonara, seeking to expand her knowledge.
That task has proven difficult for Isioviel, because other archmages guard their secrets much more firecely than she had expected. Though there are exceptions. Isioviel has met some human archwizards who will accept her. The humans, with their shorter lifespans, seem to more readily accept her talents than the Elves have. There have also been other, darker, forces who have made attempts at gaining the trust of Isioviel. These forces have tried as many techniques as they have available to them, and yet Isioviel can see though their ploys.
Isioviel does have weaknesses though. Because of her self-imposed lack of a childhood, she is not that adept at dealing with anyone childlike. She is easily frustrated with childlike actions. Though she dislikes when people act childlike, she also sympathises deeply with any child who must work more than play.
While it was her own choosing to stay indoors and read books, she does sometimes miss what she never had. As such, she will make attempts to help any children she finds in the streets who are not playing. Isioviel will do anything in her power to make the children's lives the best that they can possibly be.
Isioviel also has great compassion for those who are unfortunate in life, whether it be because of death claiming members of a family, or a lord overtaxing his pesants. She will be there with the people in need, working through their problems, and trying to find an adequate solution for all. | | | | |
