| Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. | Marsayas Dayspring Age:28
Class(es): Cleric
Race: Human(Satyr descent, just visual)
Subrace: (If Any)
Alignment: CG
Deity: Xeen
2 Domains (if cleric): Animal, Plant
Bio/Description
Marsayas Dayspring is an attractive young man with rosy lips, sparkling eyes and tanned skin, however, the most striking thing about him is the small pair of horns that protrude from his forehead. However, most people soon forget about these and quickly warm to Marsayas, as he has an air of merriment about him that is infectious.
Born the son of a carefree mother, Marsayas often nagged his mother about his father, but his mother could not remember, she remembered the wine was particularly good that night, and she and others were in fort hope, celebrating Xeens birthday. The last thing she could recall was hearing beautiful music coming from the west.
Marsayas grew up rather wild, due to his mother’s liberal parentage, and was often found gallivanting and being mischievous, chasing nymphs and running away from the animals that protected them.
However, things changed slightly when he heard the call of Xeen one midsummers eve. Marsayas was playing his pan pipes (which he had a strange liking for) when a beautiful young lady beckoned him to sit by her under a tree, away from the other merrymakers. She offered him a goblet of wine, and when Marsayas drank from it, his eyes dulled and an explosion of pleasurable and painful experiences flowed through him. As he fell asleep, he felt a kiss on his brow and the words 'when you can make wine as good as this, we will meet again....’
When he woke, he found a tattoo of a Xeen Holy Symbol on his Arm, and then started manically collecting grapes.
A cleric of Xeen was an obvious choice for a wine lover and pleasure seeker such as Marsayas. Marsayas also has the potential to become a professional bard, but is far too interested in winemaking and drinking it to notice.

| RE: Marsayas Dayspring I would appreciate it if you don't use the horns on the head part, just RP it that they are small and hidden under your hair or something.
Also, please read this and respond in this thread as requested in it. http://www.layonaraonline.com/forums...=12212&posts=2

A cleric of Xeen was an obvious choice for a wine lover and pleasure seeker such as Marsayas. He believes by making increasingly more potent and alluring wines he can get closer to his goddess. Marsayas genuinely reveres Xeen and hopes to spead her vision of intoxicated bliss to all he meets, and of course, the occasional hangover which follows!

1.A cleric of Xeen was an obvious choice for a wine lover and pleasure seeker such as Marsayas. After a religious experience Marsayas devoted himself to Xeen and her sensual cause.
2.He believes by making increasingly more potent and alluring wines he can get closer to his goddess. Marsayas genuinely reveres Xeen and hopes to spead her vision of intoxicated bliss to all he meets, and of course, the occasional hangover which follows!
3.As a servant of Xeen, Marsayas wears flowing toga-like robes and wears sandles, he often carries a staff entwined with vines, but is not aversed to using a whip or rapier when things get a little rough.
