Drudan Murkhun's life has taken a decided turn from what he expected it to be. The son of Trukan Murkhun, a warrior and one of the defenders of the clan, Drudan was following in his father's footsteps, learning the ways of a warrior. He was one of the more adept members of his class, and some observers might say he was becoming overly arrogant in the display of his skills. Drudan fully expected to one day become a defender, like his father. All in all, his life in the tunnels of his clan beneath the Greypeaks was all he expected.

It was then that disaster struck. The clan was attacked, their tunnels breached by a major incursion of the evil Drow. Drudan sprang to join the battle, excited to display his prowess and confident in the clans ability to repulse the raiders. One minute, he was springing to battle, and the next, his area of the tunnel was crumbling, then - darkness.

When he came to there wasn't a sound. Climbing from the wreckage, and returning to the tunnels once inhabited by his clan he did not find a living soul. By his hunger, he estimated he may have been out for two days. There was no sign of any of the clan. It apeared many had died, but since there were no bodies he wasn't sure who may have been dragged into slavery, and who perished.

His shame was staggering. All his supposed skills, and he wasn't even part of the fight! He was completely alone, with no way of knowing if there were any survivors, or how to track them if there were. His life completely changed at that momement. He vowed to Vorax that his life would be dedicated to improving his skills, so he could one day wreak vengence on the hated Drow. For now, all that was left for him was to wander the surface lands, his shame too great to seek out others of his race and live with them as an orphan. All he was left with was his shame, regret, hatred of Drow, and a distrust of all elves. Ahd of course his vow, to find a way to continue his training as a defender, and avenge himself on the Drow.
