Jet was born to a small family, one brother named Aran and one sister named Hilda. His father was a fairly wealthy merchant who owned a home in Port Hampshire. He was the youngest and was not recognized in the family so much. His brother would take over the company when his father died, and his sister would marry a wealthy noble. Jet had no set future. He did not have a good relationship with his father, since his mother died in childbirth. His father always blamed him for her death. His brother equal despised Jet, also believing that he was responsible for their mother's death. His sister was the only one who treated him fairly, and he always had a soft spot for for Hilda.
At the age of 16 he was kidnapped by a band of warriors. They wore red full-plate and showed no mercy to the servants or guards. Seeing as how the rest of his family was away. He was taken prisoner and held for ransom. He was taken into the mountains away from the city so he would not be able to escape. The warriors were fierce and cruel, but strong and extremely well disciplined. The warriors all used katanas with skill that Jet had not seen in his short life. They were called the 'Crimson Blades', and had only twelve members, but each member could fight like many men. He watched admirably at the swordsmanship of their leader, Tyde, who had cut down three of the guards back at the estate in a single blow. While Jet loathed him, he had a desire to learn to use the sword and fight as well as Tyde.
Jet's father did not pay the ransom. Jet does not know what happened, and is unsure if his father simply could not afford it, or simply did not want too. Jet abandoned his surname out of the loathing of his father. He personally believed that he did not want to pay for Jet's life. When the news arrived, Jet was scheduled to be executed. One of the warriors tied him up, blidfolded him, and was ready to finish him, when Tyde intervened. He stated that Jet looked to be a strong man, and with time would make an excellent addition to their group.
For the next four years Jet trained with the katana. Tyde was his teacher, and soon Jet knew him as 'master'. He learned many things about combat in his years with Tyde. He had become an excellent swordsman, and rivaled the strength of many of the other warriors. He learned to seek every advantage in combat, and that the only things that he could truly trust were himself and his blade. Under Tyde's tutalage, he became a full-fledged Crimson Blade.
Jet participated in his first raid when he had just turned 20 years old. The group attacked a heavily defend merchant caravan bound for Leilon. Jet fought the guards reluctantly, remebering his own kidnapping and the merciless slaughter of servants ang guards. The warriors killed everyone on the caravan, including the merchants and drivers. Jet did not harm anyone besides the guards, and was still guilty about hurting them. When the battle had ended he confronted Tyde, who appeared quite pleassed with himself, about the slaughter. While the other warriors looted, Tyde told Jet that they were taking what was rightfully theirs. The merchants were weak, and could not defend themselves was what Tyde used as his explanation for their attacks.
This was not good enough for Jet. He openly stated that he could allow Tyde and the others to do this to innocent people. Tyde laughed, and Jet and tyde fought in a one-on-one duel. Jet fought hard, but was no match for his teacher. He was given a near fatal wound by Tyde, and collapsed into blackness. Believing that Jet had been killed, the others set off for their next target.
When Jet awoke he was alone by the side of the road, the destroyed caravan nexxt to him. He stumbled off down the road, eventually arriving in Hlint. He passed out near the temple soon after arriving. He could only think of one thing though... Tyde. He needed to train. He needed to master his blade. He needed to redeem himself for bringing harm to innocents. And most of all he need to confront Tyde again, and this time defeat him. |
