Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

| Vornyadoc Grappabuck Edited for alignment and spelling
Race: Halfling
Age: 28
Class: Rogue (20)
This is just FYI: possible 2nd class (paladin, but that is if CDQ is made and successful, after level 10)
Deity: Lucinda
Alignment: Lawful Good
Vorniadoc Grappabuck was born in the settlement of Melnon. There he has been brought up in the Lucinda worshipping, Grappabuck household, a wine making family in the foothills of Graypeak mountains. He has witnessed magic from an early age. It (magic) was used to grow grapes, speed up or slow down the fermentation process ad well as distillation, making the wine and various distilled variances there of in great demand.
The boy learned to read various scrolls, and the significance of various ingredients, while attending a school at the temple of Lucinda.
Given the boy's lively nature and impatience, it proved to be really hard to instill discipline in him. Thus come planting time or harvest time, starting with the age of 10 he was shipped off to his uncle, Hunterdoc Grappabuck, a hunter, who lived in the settlment of Beirun, on the outskirts of the High forest.
Uncle managed to instill in the boy some measure of love for the outside, as well as some hunting skills, especially use of sling and bow, setting and disabling traps and the variety of other skills, including being able to stalk prey by listening ever changing bird songs, and other tell tale sounds of the forest, ability to blend in with the surroundings proved important as well.
Given their small stature, uncle taught the boy to be a sure shot and shoot the animals, especially large ones into their vulnerable spots. Over the time, he and his uncle have encountered a number of orkish bandit bands, while on the hunting expeditions. The only thing that saved them was the ability to hide and spring traps, ambushing the bandits with flurries of arrows and bullets, exploiting various vulnerabilities in the ork armor, disabling or killing some orks outright, forcing the rest to flee.
Years later, during one late winter boy's uncle, Hunterdoc Grappabuck, did not return from his trip to the forest to retreave traps, set a week earlier. The boy (now a 28 year old man) was helping inspect the wine casks in the cellar, when the postman brought in a note from another hunter from Beirun, who happened to have found Hunterdoc's backpack and numerous unidentified footprints as well as traces of blood, in the Graypeak mountains, dozens of miles away from where the hunter should have been traveling.
The boy, now a 28 year old man, immediately headed out to Beirun, to attempt to organize a searching expedition. However, late winter storm has hid all tracks beyond his ability to read them. Having heard of Hlint as a center of adventure and travel on Mistone, Vornyadoc headed to Hlint, in hope may be someone heard something about his uncle. He does hope to organize a search party, once he finds out something more about it.
Appearance: tall for a halfling 3'2'', lanky, grayish hair, light skin. Very good looking, sports a pair of gnomish made goggles. Vorny as he is known to friends, is a very smooth talker and is a great story teller, can be outright charming or irritating. He worships Lucinda and the weave, and has been known to play pranks or irritate those who talk down about the Lady of the Weave or the weave itself.
