| Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. | Laanelaamelaa Full Name: Laanelaamelaa
Age: 144
Class(es): Rogue/Ranger
Race: Elf
Subrace: Wild Elf
Alignment: N
Bio/Description:
"Stonewise," a peculiarly appropriate name for a peculiar wild elf. Born at the foot of the Spine Mountains on Dregar during a seasonal migration, the name was meant only to symbolize the occurance. It turned out to be far more meaningful. Laanelaamelaa was never satisfied with Kithairien's ways. Perhaps she was a bit more keen of mind than her brethren, or perhaps a bit less xenophobic, but she felt following the way of the hunter unfulfilling. She understood the beliefs, and accepted them at arm's length, but it never seemed to mean as much to her as it did to the others of her clan.
In addition to that she felt more affinity for the mountains than the forests. When she was on the mountain she felt the flow of nature far more strongly. Walking the mountain felt no more difficult than a droplet of water sliding over a leaf. It felt right. So when a group of travellers stumbled upon them in need of a guide, she was quick to volunteer.
The group of adventurers were followers of Aragen, seeking an original copy of a text, rumored to have been held in a vault in one of the mountains for centuries. No adventurer herself, she was content to simply guide them on their way, however it exposed her to people and philosophies she had never heard of before. Eventually it came time for her to part with them, and she returned to her clan. But, without the natural instinct to fear outsiders, she quickly latched on to any source of outside knowledge for years to come.
With each passing season her dissatisfaction with "merely" hunting grew, and she longed to go on another adventure as she had in her early youth. At first she felt she had made a grave error, leaving the forest and entering the cities of others. Her talents proved useful, though, and many were eager to enlist her as a guide when travelling to the mountains or into the cave networks. During these times she would hear of the stories of their past exploits; even something as simple as beating back a bandit assault on a wagon was captivating.
She had always intended to leave her clan for adventures of her own, but it was not until a dragon's vision during her nightly trance that she decided. Emboldened by the vision, she used what little she had earned to book passage on the first ship bound for Mistone.

| Aragen is an human god and not too many elves follow him. Assuming that this is an elven group of adventurers then maybe you could simply change them to servants of Aeridin?

Changed to Dregar. It wasn't the key part of the bio.
