Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

| Fleetwood Walker Full name: Fleetwood Walker
Age: 27
Class: Fighter
Race: Half-Elve
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Deity: None
Description/Biography:
Before he was born, his mother had lived in Meimar, between Murdoch and Dry Hills on the island of Vanavar. Then one day Xandrial’s forces invaded the island and began a systematic plan of destruction. Fleetwood’s mother’s family were killed by the invaders, but not before some Gray Elves rescued the little girl from the invaders and escaped into the Broken Mountains. There she remained hidden from the world. Over the years she was raised by the Gray Elves in the mountains. When she became a young woman, she eventually fell in love with one of the young Elves. They eventually married and decided to start a family. She became pregnant with a child, and after several months she gave birth to a baby boy. She and her husband named him Fleetwood
Fleetwood started life in the Broken Mountains on the island of Vanavar. Growing up he was close to his parents. He was educated by the most normal means possible and had an otherwise normal childhood. His family lived in and amongst the Elves in the mountains. They all remained hidden. While growing up Fleetwood found he excelled at fighting and wrestling with the other children. His physical human strength was a great advantage when combined with his Elven speed. As he grew older he won several fighting competitions, and felt this might be some kind of calling. During these years the Elves lived in peace in their nomadic encampments in the mountains. Occasionally someone from the town would explore high into the mountains and spot one of them. The Elves used trickery to scare them away and create confusion about their size and numbers.
Finally one day, one of Xandrial’s sheriffs, an evil man named Dlanod Pmurt, organized a band of goons to go into the mountains and route the Elves that had escaped there years before. The elves were caught by surprise, and when they tried to scare away Dlanod’s men their efforts were thwarted in their efforts. They sheriff’s men eventually found the Elves main encampment. The Elves tried to fight them off but Dlanod had simply brought too many men with him and they were outnumbered. Dlanod's men set the town on fire and began killing the elves. Fleetwood, who was nearly a mile away from the town with his friends when the invasion started, heard the screaming. He and all his friends arrived back at the town but it was too late. His friends were killed almost immediately. Fleetwood ran to his home and entered the door just in time to see one of the goons drive a sword through his father. His mother was nowhere to be seen. Fleetwood attacked his father’s killer and in his rage nearly separated the killer’s head from his shoulders with his bare hands. In the ensuing struggle a lamp fell over and broke, lighting the thatch wall on fire. Flames leapt from the house as Fleetwood dragged his dying father out of the home.
“Where is mother? Asked Fleetwood. His father did not answer and was breathing very heavily, blood coming from his mouth. “Father, you are going to be alright, let me get you to a doctor in town.”
“Son, I am going now. It is time for me...” said his father as he went limp in his arms. Fleetwood was still holding his father when he was spotted by Dlanod.
“Bring the half-human, half-elf here” said Dlanod. One of the goons grabbed Fleetwood by the hair and dragged him over to Dlanod. “What do we have here? An imperfect abomination before the gods. You are neither human, nor elf. Disgusting!” Sneered the evil man.
“You are right, I am neither - yet I am both. And with both sides of me I despise you wholly.” Said Fleetwood with outright indignation. “And this day I will kill you and all of your men. We have always lived here in peace, not bothering you, and yet you come here and attempt to destroy us.”
“Is that right? Well you will get your chance right now.” Dlanod dismounted his steed and stood before Fleetwood. The young half human - half elf stood and squared off before the evil sheriff. Dlanod took the first swing and the two began to fight. It was a fair match. For several minutes the two battled. The goons noticed the fight, and with the Elven encampment burning behind them, made a circle around the combatants. Finally Fleetwood bested his opponent and had him pinned to the ground, his boot on the evil mans neck.
“Will you kill me now?” asked Dlanod, choking from the pressure
“I am not sure.” Replied Fleetwood. “If I let you live... will you leave here and promise never to return?”
But before Dlanod could answer, one of the goons leapt at Fleetwood, knocking him to the ground. All of the goons then took after Fleetwood. The young man jumped high into the air to avoid them. He grabbed a tree branch and swung on it to escape. He leapt from the branch and landed on one of the roofs of the thatch huts. Fleetwood broke into a sprint and escaped into the wilderness of the mountains. The goons tried to chase him for awhile, but soon gave up. Fleetwood looked back one last time at his burning home, the screams subsiding. The smoke rose into the leaves of the trees, otherwise ruining was would have been a perfect spring day.
“I am going to leave this island. They have seen my face and they will hunt me down and kill me if I remain here. But someday I will return and Dlanod and his minions will know it. They will know it is me. And they will know the meaning of vengeance.” | | |

| RE: Fleetwood Walker I am impressed that you took the time to ready up on the world, thank you.
While some of the geography/race things might not have happened as we have it now I am willing to let it slide.Â
