Bio/Description:
Ichitan was born to a leatherworking gatherer named Cesora (Hopeful) Youbli on the Day of Hunt and month of Drying Ember 1368. The rambuncious teenager was good at nearly every contest he trialed and at times even beat adults. His Father was determined to make him an artisan, the boy had a natural talent with weapons and his father sent him out to work as an apprentice to his father's Uncle, the tribe's best weapon crafter, shortly after his Ritual of Naming.
However, a stubborn old man and prefered to work alone a quarter day's walk from the village he saw the strength of Ichitan that his Father saw and took him in to learn the art. Ichitan worked with his great-uncle for nearly three years before even touching the forge, every day he practiced his combat and cared for his elder great-uncle, living on the edge of goblin territory Ichitan had fight with his great-uncle weekly. Ichitan learned, through long meditations and silent sittings with his great-uncle, that it is important to care for every kind of creature before one's self Ichitan learned the ways of Deliar and the importance of self reliance.
His great-uncle followed his own teachings to a tee and promised himself he would not teach Ichitan the crafter's way until he had personally taken him through the Ritual of Change. As the seasons changed and Ichitan grew older his great-uncle was always kind to travelers but however few there were they were always kind back.
Until one fateful night during the Dark Cold at the start of a thunderstorm, that rolled in too quickly for then to prepare for, Ichitan and his great-uncle saw a human crawling across the treetrunk bridge to the mountain hut with blood all across his body, the wounds were too numberous to count and yet he still breathed. The great-uncle pulled the man inside and bandaged as many wounds as he could before lighting shot down at the hut and tore the roof off. As water poored into the large house it put out all of the lights and the man squeeled in agony "Run! He will not stop, it will not stop!" in the instance that Ichitan grabbed his blade and chopped down the ember door, whose flame was only put out by the storm that cause it, he saw two more humans this time they were not worried of their injuries, both were channeling spells and suddenly more lighting came from the skies and struck the house the human had been hit and the lightening coarsed through the great-uncle as well.
In a fit of rage Ichitan charged at the strange humans but was quickly cast aside by one of the mages and thrown down the rocky mountainside. Ichitan had fallen off those rocks before as part of his training and knew well how to slide into the safety of a nearby cave made by the wind pushing through the chasm walls. Ichitan bandaged his wounds and fell into a deep slumber. Waking to a bright humid morning he followed the path back up to the great-uncle's hut to find what he had left with. The hut was demolished and inside it lay two charred corpses, no sign of the intruders and a month of ruined supplies. Ichitan salvaged what he could and took the long walk back to the tribe he had not visited in four years.
Welcomed with the open embrace of his father he told him everything he had learned and the death of his father's uncle. The whole tribe was quickly notified and the elders announced that very soon they will complete Ichitan's Ritual of Change. Ichitan was sent to a private hut to think long and hard about what he has been through so as to convince the elder's that his great-uncle and him where bystandards in the attack. Knowing full well he was not a bystandard, he decided to lie, lie not for himself but instead for his great-uncle and to be able to leave the village in honor and hunt down the humans that killed his teacher with a stern promise to be kind to all others in his path. Ichitan told the elders his story, he could feel their eyes on him, he knew they felt his lies and he expected the worst when they came back with their words of wisdom. However their attitude they granted him the tatoo of change and their blessings to find the human destoyers who killed his great-uncle. Ichitans shock and relief made him quick out to get his supplies, hours later he gave his family his farewells and ventured off into a new world.
OOC: I believe this will be a good starting character for me as my character will be just as ignorant and afraid of the world outside of his village as I am. I plan for him to be a solid Barbarian but depending how things develope I am open to him being in the prestige Bear Warrior class although I know nothing of how the machanics of custom Prestige Classes work. Let me know if you want the Halfling or the Common version of his name in his Name for the actual character. Thanks and I hope to see you all in-game!
