| Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. | Drekhor Areival Full Name: Drekhor Areival Age: 21 Class(es): Fighter/Wizard/Spellsword Race: Human Subrace: N/A Alignment: LN Deity: Lucinda Bio/Description: He was born in a small and poor village whichÂsurvived mostly from farming, and he being a strong child and teenager, was perfect for the required heavy labor. In his few free times, though, he liked to be with the members from the small town militia, who saw potential in him and trained him in weapons. He learnt all he could, but he had a special preference for large weapons, which his strong arms were well suited for. He was also tough and dexterous, however, and as such he was an excellent warrior, besides having a quick mind good for analizing a battlefield. One day, though, an expedition of wizards passed through the village, and one of them, when casting his nightly divinations, detected a small point of magic. He detected it in the form of a boy, a strong boy, who farmed and passed time with the militia. They were delayed a few days because they hadn't supplies, and as such he used the oppurtunity to call the boy and have a conversation with him. Drekhor was surprised by the invitation, but he went nonetheless, because he always felt different from his peers. During the conversation, he discovered that he may possibly possessÂmagical talent. He wasÂdelighted at the thought, but he wanted to know how this affected him practically. The mage told him that heÂcould be trained as a wizard, which could complement his fighting abilities. He asked if the mage could do it, and the other responded saying only if he was willing to leave behind a life of farming and family, and would be willing to embrace adventure and the teachings of Lucinda. He went to ask his family, and they were proud of their son, though sad he had to leave them. He said he would come back, though, and with this promise, he left with the wizards, learning magic and serving as a bodyguard. When they passed through Hlint, he decided to part ways and stay there, and the mages let him, as he had the right to do what he wanted. He had a most strange dream about a gold dragon, though, and was told he had to fight Blood, so now he will train and practise a lot to be able to become a Spellsword, so that he can defeat the armies.
//I'm going to start only speaking common, but will make an effort to learn tongues, so that I can get some ears.

| RE: Drekhor Areival We dont approve Prc characters at the start of play. See here for details of what is required. http://www.layonaraonline.com/forums...=16426&posts=4
You cannot learn tongues the spell ingame, we have spoken of the even playing field once before on a quest. There are some who only play nwn nights and I refuse to give you advantages because you may own the players handbook where others do not. Even if I was willing (which I am not) the spell does not let you learn languages, but comprehends them for you.
You can earn ears ingame like any other character of course, finding a tutor and studying. This takes months of rl time but in the end you may end up with an ear.
Approved as Fighter/Wizard only. | | |

| RE: Drekhor Areival ÂHeh, I wasn't speaking about the Tongues spell, I only use PHB spells in DM ran quests when I have authorization, and besides that only the spell Message for IC tells, I was speaking about literally learing tongues like any other person, exactly like you described, sorry for the misunderstanding. And I know PrCs aren't approved now, but I just wanted you guys to know what's the route I wanted this character to take.
