| Character Development Quests (CDQ's) This is the forum that you will use to sign up for character development quests (CDQ's). Please read the stickies in this forum and follow the proedures. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. When you join you'll also be able to communicate privately to other members (PMs), establish and respond to polls, upload and download content and access many other special features. | jrizz - Happy I am still working on my style but for the most part I like to tell a story and I am big on NPC interaction. So expect a lot of RP with me through NPC's. When it comes to NPC interaction I dont like to script too much I am fast on my feet I know the info I want to get across but it is the players that make it happen.
I like to set up challenging combat and I like groups that act smart (a mage that runs out in front to cast a mass kill spell will most likely die). For combat I am all about smart battle tactics and creativity (if time permits go ahead and try to tumble under that nasty giant and cut his foot off, we will roll and see what happens), game mechanics tactics will almost always result in bad things.
For CDQ's I would want specifics but I am willing to work back and forth to come up with solid goals and reasons.
I am in Cali (PST) and I shine late night
10pm - 12am PST (Sun -T)
10pm - 2am PST (F & S)

| Re: jrizz - Happy I was thinking of a CDQ to run for Omer and eventually for the Council of Hope guild. The purpose of the CDQ is to research and acquire artifacts or information that will aid in the fighting of dragons. Omer and the guild have been discussing the fact that eventually the dragons will have to be dealt with and that unless we have some powerful weapons against them the struggle will be one sided. Bloodstone was successful in dealing with dragons and though he was banished he may have left some clues as to the secret to his success in some of his old hiding places or libraries.
Following this line of inquiry Omer discussed the subject with Ozymandias one day in Hempstead Square. Ozymandias described the Staff of Dragon Scales as an ancient artifact that apparently absorbs the vicious energies of a dragon's attack, and after a time releases the energies back at the dragon with the fury of the dragon essence contained within the staff. The staff was created by magi who battled the dragons, dragons being resistant to magical attacks of the magi.
Ozymandias also described lost spell scrolls with the power to at least help battle a dragon. Ozymandias stated that the scrolls are reputed to be located in the lost ruined castle of the Last Vampire Lord, not Sappaporias, possibly located at the heart of Thunder Valley.
I would like to start the CDQ with Omer doing research and maybe interviewing someone or exploring an ancient library to get some clues that might lead to some other clues. Eventually there will be the need to have a group penetrate a dungeon or some location to either retrieve one or more artifacts directly or to recover an ancient tome that will lead further along the trail.
This could be done as a guild CDQ for the Council of Hope if they decide to pursue it.
Thanks for your help.

| Re: jrizz - Happy Jrizz,
I am requesting that my first request be put on hold for a rainy day and I request that in it's place that Omer join Abi in a CDQ to pursue Spellsword. I have discussed it with Abi and looks like a go there. I will PM you with ideas.
