| Character Development Quests (CDQ's) This is the forum that you will use to sign up for character development quests (CDQ's). Please read the stickies in this forum and follow the proedures. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. When you join you'll also be able to communicate privately to other members (PMs), establish and respond to polls, upload and download content and access many other special features. | Carillon - Phoenix (CDQs and GCDQs) Style:
The style of each CDQ will depend very much on the goal and the character. Some CDQs will be very RP heavy, while others might have more combat-oriented goals. The one thing you do need to be able to do is stay true to your character! Other than that, the style of the CDQ will be determined by each specific situation. There is no cookie-cutter mold. If you have specific questions or are concerned that my style might not suit you, I suggest you PM me and I will happily chat with you about expectations, scheduling, character goals or any other aspect pertaining to my style. Schedule:
Timing and scheduling for CDQs will be by negotiation. I'm in the PST timezone and am currently constrained to mostly weekends and weekday evenings, but I will try to work with you to find a suitable overlapping time. CDQs in Progress:
1. minerva/Sophia
2. Hellblazer/Fehriel CDQs in Planning:
1. Aerimor/Razeriem
2. CDQ Wait list:
1. ShiffDragonheart/Tyra Dragonheart (pending completion of current CDQ)
2.
In the case that my plate gets full but you still want me to GM your CDQ for you, I will put you on a wait list. Generally speaking, CDQs will be run in the order they are requested but exceptions will be made for major planning or scheduling issues. If running a CDQ will not interfere with the scheduling or progress of a CDQ requested earlier, this rule does not apply and the quest will be run as soon as convenient!
Well, that's about it. PM me if you have questions and I am happy to answer them, discuss your CDQ with you, or chat about character development.
Fondly, ~Carillon Finished CDQs:
1. Minerva/Sophia
2. Shiff/Tyra Dragonheart
3. Link092/Sion
4. Aerimor/Razeriem
5. Dorganath/Connor Garvill
6. Hellblazer/Tyillaan
7. SteveMaurer/Rottie
8. Miltonyorkcastle/Steel
9. Aerimor/Razeriem
10. Lord Cove/Trouble Tempest
11. Slithy Tove/Jako Stonehill
12. Alazira/Alazira
13. Alatriel/Zarianna
14. silverdraco/Xanya

| Re: Carillon - Phoenix (CDQ only) Before I forget to make an official request. Carillon, as discussed via PM and tells, I am requesting a CDQ for Razeriem. I see you already have it listed as in planning and we talked about time table and scope. Everything we have discussed is acceptable with me. I'll try to catch up to you in IRCC to answers whatever else you had to ask of me.
Thank you, especially for making time in a busy schedule.

| Request CDQ for Rottie I would like to be put on the wait list to request a CDQ for Rottie, my Az'attan half-ogre. He wants to be an Az'attan Undead Slayer (which Ed says is impossible), but Rottie is none too clear on this, and needs to learn it in-game. He also intends to give away nearly all his money in Fort Vehl, because he is (actually) CG, not CN. And, he is going to be trying to learn how to really use his sword well, by working with a weapon master. All on the trip to Audira.
An Az'attan weapon master? Is this all a big case of cognitive dissonance? If he were a Catholic, would he be pro-choice? Are many Az'attan lay members actually like pro-choice Catholics, secretly practicing with weapons, in case they get ambushed in the rough and tumble world of Layonara, no matter what their priests say is religiously correct?
Actual results intended: Shift towards CG from CN. PrC Weapon Master approved. Determination made as to whether he can deeply worship Az'atta while using weapons, or if the handmaidens will ex-communicate him for using weapons as a member of the laity.
p.s. Some other Az'attan worshipers will be invited, and some of his friends. | | |

| Re: Carillon - Phoenix (CDQ only) CDQs finished, requests received and acknowledged, thread modified accordingly. The great wheel of Layonara continues to turn, and this one small cog tries to do its part.
Thread can once again be considered current and updated.

| Re: Carillon - Phoenix (CDQs and GCDQs) Thread once again updated and current. Anyone requesting a CDQ right now, please be advised there will certainly be some delay while I kill my current backlog again. If this is a concern for you, please feel free to contact me and I'll try and give you an estimate of wait time, though such things are notably imprecise due to the unpredictable nature of the world we live in.
Cheers,
Phoenix/Carillon
