| Alantha T'sarran Character Name: Alantha T’sarran
Current Level: 20
XP to next lvl: 230.000 or so...
................................................†¦................................................â €¦.............
Original Character Submission:
Full Name: Alantha May'salkiriiss
(T’sarran instead of above surname due to wish from approving GM to shorten the name.)
Age: 107
Class: Sorceress Illusionist
Race: Elf
Subrace: Drow
Alignment: LG
Deity: Az'atta
Bio/Description:
Alantha May'salkiriis was born Arisa Kil'ghym and is the youngest daughter of the late Matriarch Szinolin Kil'ghym, who once ruled the minor house of Kil'ghym. However the house of Kil'ghym is no more, wiped out many years ago.
She never really knew her mother, nor her two elder sisters and elder brother. As the youngest sibling she was never really considered a threat. Her two elder sisters plotted to take over the matriarchal position, and her brother was killed during a raid he participated in two years before the downfall of house Kil'ghym.
The early years Alantha (known as Arisa at the time) spent in the temple of Vierdri'ira as an acolyte/learner.
She learned how to perform rituals, and cause general destruction, both with regular weapons and spells, calling on divine powers to aid her.
She never really had time to plot to kill her sisters and mother so that she may rule house Kil'ghym. Long before that was an option, she was sent on a training mission leaving her enclave and the relative safety of the temple-complex.
A small group of Az'atta followers had been reported to have entered their realm. She and her brother, whom she outranked along with some other male skirmishers, were sent out to ambush them. They prevailed and at the end of the day she had cut the hearts out and placed them on an altar as a sacrifice to Vierdri'ira. Upon returning she brought honour to house Kil'ghym for being the raiding party who prevailed before all other houses. However, she also brought the processions of one of the Az'atta priestess's. Including a book with the teachings of Az'atta in it. It was of course considered unsuitable for a future priestess to have such a book in her procession. However Arisa knew that knowing your enemy is a vital key to success, and victory. Thus she gradually read about the forbidden goddess. She was now 47, young and ambitious.
Forty years later: The House of Kil'ghym is wiped out in one single devastating attack. Their arch-enemy House Despana showed no mercy.
It was but chance and pure luck Arisa lured death and lived to fight another day.
However she had yet to reach the rank of priestess, and with her mentor dead and now without a house, her chances of ever being granted the powers of the goddess she had been born to serve, she turned away from her dark path.
The late nights reading of an alternate way of life, and the fact an outcast had very slim chances, if any at all, to survive alone in the underdark. She abandoned her faith, and renounced Vierdri'ira and begun her journey to the surface world.
Scared and confused she reached the surface, blinded by the immense light of the sun she cried out in fear, when something happened. Her thoughts were all wishing for her to vanish, and to have sanctuary from the light blinding her. Magic started to flow and she knew not what happened, but all of a sudden the light was no longer a problem.
Still a bit scared and even more chocked at the fact she had cast some spell, even though stripped of her divine powers, she slowly started walking.
Twenty years later: A few days ago... A cloaked figure travelled through a human village this night, only a shepherd on his way out to relieve his comrade out on the plains saw her passing as she stopped to refill her water canteen in the village's well.
If she was drow, he could not tell. The moon was hiding behind a layer of clouds, and the wind was getting stronger. The leaves whistled in the wind and from a distance a campfire could be seen.
The shepherd hurries to go and relieve his comrade, walking up hill as fast as he can when a terrifying scream for help echoes between the hillsides. It quickly dies out in the wind, but there can be no doubt. His friend is in trouble.
A pack of hungry wolves are making the herd restless and despite the fire, the pack doesn’t seem to be frightened.
As he hurries to assist his friend, a bright jolt of energy flashes and lights the night sky for a brief moment.
He is close enough to see it is the cloaked woman, she is chanting and another mysterious bolt directed from her, going straight for the wolves, already in retreat.
His friend is wounded, holding his left arm. The cloaked figure is bandaging his wound. Still he can't see her face.
The hood she wears surely covers and darkens the face area, he thinks.
Suddenly she pulls her hood back, and in the light of the fire there can be no doubt. He is standing face to face with a dark elf, a drow.
For a moment time freezes for him. He looks to his friend who seem to have reacted in the same way he has.
Both stare at her as her face turns a bit sad, and she leaves with the words: I believe thank you is what you are trying to spit out... She pulls up her hood and casts a spell, vanishing as quickly as she arrived.
The two shepherd look at each other, wondering if it was actually real.
The wind playing with the tree crowns, and the campfire, are all you can hear now...

Quests and events post submission:
• Radiance/Nightmare (Asandir/Storm & Calem/Pankoki)
Alantha participated in most sessions, this series had some major influences on her person as she was put into a difficult position. Very typical choice of two evils, either strike down a priest of Corath /preventsacrifice /refuse to perform sacrifice Or do as asked and more than likely spare the life of Violet by ascertaining an artefact to aid in their quest. I believe it was a bracelet. Ultimately she chose to comply as not doing so would likely render any chances of getting in touch with the invisible blade null.
Not only did she comply, she did so hoping it would be a swift and painless death for the victim, however, it turned out to be a cursed/enchanted 1time use power that turned the girl sacrificed into a balor/balrog/demon.
Ever since she holds a great hatred directed towards corathites in general, and the one priest in arabel in particular. Wishing to somehow free the girl from demon form, or put an end to the existence is something she desires a lot.
Being an az’attan at the time, and still being so to some degree taking part in the ritual was really hard on her. Ironic as it may seem, saving the dream she now has nightmares.
As a former vierdri’iran she first begun question the Mother of Darkness from reading the book she ascertained. Taking this action had a somewhat larger emotional effect on her than she had thought possible. Compassion and guilt, followed by more familiar ones such as anger and hatred.
Since the struggle of faith within has been very even, in the end with some influences from outside she tipped over toward Lucinda. Magic being very much what she is about.
Still, she cannot deny that ghosts of the past are on her mind from time to time.
And the Mother of all Darkness isn’t very forgiving...
This might be used in an ecdq somehow.
• The Orcish Hordes (Harlas)
Alantha begun her participation during the scouting of the island in lake palden.
After that things went quick and before she knew what she had tried chewing off she was orcanized. At the beginning it wasn’t so bad but time ticked on and so, in-game time she was in orc-form for around three years.
During this period she had some physical and mental changes. Her temper is more heated and it is easier to invoke her wrath. She also learned orcish fluently.
Finally the group managed to “disable” the leader, and the blade he had used (now standing in Ranger’s Vale by the way ? ) was neutralized, and the orcish conquest or Lar was prevented with some help of the Baron and his fellow dwarves.
If Alantha had little love for orcs before this experience she despised them afterwards.
All though understanding what it means to be an orc, she cannot see an az’attan perspective. Secretly/subtly she feels drow are very much superior to any orc, just by race.
However since she has no orcish acquaintances this issue has never really been pressed and her obsession with magic surpasses her sentiments toward orcs by far.
This also might have some ecdq potential, though not quite like the unholy sacrifice...
• The Grove of Az’atta episode 2 (Asandir/Storm)
Alantha was in the party that travelled down the underdark into “the grove” and saw Veldrin and his little army.
She heard an old “acquaintance” whispering about recognizing her, and pretty much freaked out in fear. The name Elamshin being a familiar one.
This was all done In-game live, and it was Storm doing the talking I believe.
This quest was the first time in the underdark for Alantha since she left it.
• Dawn of an Age (Calem/Pankoki)
Alantha is currently holding on to a sword and a spear which she organized a search to retrieve. It belongs to the blood heir of a powerful legend who is now in the care of one of her closest friends...
The series are still running and Dawnray is waiting to feel the touch of its owner.
Currently the series is taking time out? Pankoki running a lot along with Storm and soon to have vacation this series will unfold later.
• The Mistone Alliance – Related to the war
The Silent War (Milo’s Evil Twin/Milo)
Sorting out issues on the home front, for the good of the M.A.
Operation; Bloodseeker, Bloodstriker, and Bloodfall.
Series to evaluate, weaken and “disable” Blood’s presence in roldem.
Was in the group of volunteering attacking adventurers whom alongside the mistone elite and naval power freed the fallen kingdom of roldem.
Also has made notable donations in form of equipment for the war effort.
• Angel’s tear (Rah Rah/Storm & Quon/Pankoki)
Alantha had an affair with her teacher ? Magical love, or was it?
Currently running but missed a few sessions due to RP and RL reasons.
Party had finished the first tower, Acacea found Diamond the glass-figurine unicorn.
Left for the other place at end of last session participated, and the party has been stuck in there, therefore making it odd RP’ishly to join in.
Series isn’t over, and so far has had some rather heavy impressions on Alantha.
• Soul of a Lost Ancient – Main Plot Quests
The Dungeon series; Darkness and shadows, Discovery of Ancients, and Ancient One.
Alantha was in the party travelling to xantril to go into the lair of Shadision the Viper.
Eventually finding the ancient city and councillor. Learned the “shadow” language.
Three months below sharpened her senses again, however Harlas Orcish Hordes were running parallel to this, and as such Alantha was orc.
This made her magical abilities somewhat weaker however her orcish physiology might have actually helped her enduring the time spent trying to get out.
Soul necklace and Xandrial; Alantha was among the ones “dealing” with the demon doing his bidding aiding the greater good?
After having just reached Xandrial himself in his lair on xantril, the group were ported into the abyss, where they fought and weakened a great demon, Arambrone?...
Doing so enabled Xandrial to appear and strike the final blow. This meant Blood lost a general and the demon/fiend forces he commanded. Some of it at least... ?
Xandrial join the ruling council of the Abyss, Blood lost a general, the war has turned for the first time, into the favour of “the good” people!
• Stuff...
I. Helped Ael on his CDQ, destroying the temple of Baraeon Ca’duz at the river of shadows and helping in freeing one of his older friends.
II. Helped Ozy on his ECDQ2 in the abyss and helped “fighting” Randharavana the shadowfiend.
III. Helped Xiao on his ECDQ, once Xiao had gathered his red tiger comrades and others willing to help, travelled to find Tou the “evil” monk.
IV. Helped Kobal on his ECDQ. “I need an army” call... Alantha answered.

Guildmembership(s):
The Arcane Alliance, future un-certain...
The Church of Lucinda (Affirmed Mage)
................................................†¦................................................â €¦............
Magic:
Alantha’s magic originally leaned toward illusion due to obsession of self-preservation in a new and hostile environment.
Gradually experimenting a lot, frequently trying new things her magic evolved and has been through strict defensive into purely destructive phases. The dark arts to the mysteries of divination, all is magic and she loves magic.
Currently she is leaning more toward evocation and necromancy as many destructive weave patterns can be found in those schools.
................................................†¦................................................â €¦............
ECDQ & EPIC LEVELS:
I will be happy to let any GM decide the events, but would like to mention...
Magic is what she loves and magic is what she will continue exploring.
Alantha is a witch, a sorceress and her desire to form her own path with magic is strong.
I am currently not seeing multiclassing options, as there is no real PrC focusing for a sorceress suiting RPishly with Alantha. Staying pure sorceress is what I am seeing currently.
Alantha never actually saw her house fall, she heard it and decided that either way, she might as well leave. Feeling small but existing doubts about her current path, she felt it the best option. However, with no proof other than the word of a servant, her entire house might still be up and thriving even more so when a rival heir was “eliminated”.
Perhaps she will come to rule her old house again, or be forced to finish what she thought finished many years ago.
An az’attan drow society is most appealing. Perhaps an eventual city might grow, not only for drow, though being located somewhere next to, and in the underdark acting as outpost and defence against the many horrors of the underdark.
What is that darkness outside ft.hope... a piece of the plane of shadow? Vierdri’ira’s domain? Are there other unknown entrences on mistone or dregar?
Assisting Ael destroying the temple of Baraeon Ca’duz ought to have brought up some rather hostile feelings in certain areas... Nothing has happened, but you never know.
Being keen on assassination and poisons, this is quite odd... though I believe Alantha was still orc and that might explain why no one has come for her or the others involved.
The turning of the sacrificed girl and the breaking of such a curse/transformation would no doubt require some high magical expertise, the desire to do so, along with the “execution” of the corathites in the arabel-temple would be a challenge.
Perhaps even install a more favoured deity in her eyes. Az’attan temples or Lucindite ones are scarce. Though, not wanting to give any details, I think an az’attan temple would be more needed, and more logical since they work to aid the ones in dire need.
The path of redemption is tricky when combined with an obsessive love of magic... | | |
