History/intro: Pranzis

*Thoughts of Varka*
Slowly the darkness faded away and blurry images appeared for my eyes again. Little by little the images took forms of dwarves but I kept still and did not move. Through the visor I only watched them doing their job.
With the vision the rest of the senses came as well. ... that smells of dead bodies.
Only by moving my eyes I saw the great city walls from outside. Smoke rose from inside of the city which simply meant one thing.
The day was hot even though the sky was dark. Is it daytime? It must be otherwise the dwarves would not be work here outside the walls. Million of flies were buzzing around and I could hear the crows were already here. Ready for a big feast.
I closed my eyes and kept still hoping not to be spotted before the works left. That would be my chance as always. I laid there for hours only to regain enough strenght to move away. I laid there and heard the dwarves talk. Talk about the take over of The great city Pranzis.
Rumours must have spread quickly as the dwarves knew of Sinister Blood fall in the East and why the sky was dark.
The Ulgrids, adventures and Kobal must have succeeded then. We won the war but here – here we lost the battle. Why?... Keep the temper down old feller or they will spot you.

The price of the battle was high. The price was my clan. What will I tell the younglings, elders and women that stayed in Lar? I have to go back as soon as possible.

For 30 years this has been going on. Battle after Battle and I am still brought back, but why?
This time it is nothing like before because I am buried with faces I know the name of. My family is dead. Vorax do not leave me like the Cleric in South Fort. I saw what happened to the feller when he lost his family and faith. I promised myself not to go that way. Keep your head up Varka this was part of the plan. The Crushers and Cleavers knew it. For years we planned this and now it has been done. The Crushers and Cleavers will never be forgotten.

Night came and the dwarves which were filling up the mass-grave where Varka laid in moved inside the walls of Pranzis. They had spoken of burning the dead but an officer told them not to. “Let what ever crawls forth at night have a feast. They are free guards for our new city tehn. Remember there could still be scouts around”
As the dwarves moved inside and the sky became darker Varka got up and moved quickly away towards Loriander and final destination – Lar. The trip was long and thoughts crossed his mind.

You have come to another path me old friend as you have done it before. What now?
Long time ago you hooked up with Annaya and her gang.
Then you found Brant and Ellendil, gathered them in The Tavern of Hlint. A fine group it was until they moved back to their families. I still remember the boat that came and picked up Ellendil at Port Hamspire – that foggy dawn.
Lastly you manage to found the group “Bloody Hands”. I still recall Geir’s excitement of me idea and plan especially when it came to the name of the group. Geir old friend, bloody hell ye had many ideas but the real meaning and understanding for the name “The Bloody Hands”. This is only known by few. *Looks at the burn mark on his chest* . This seems again to be fading and families have been prioritised again.
What path shall I take now? (Closes on the Grey peaks) Will this be the end station for me? Will I go home to the ones left of the Crushers and Cleavers for good? Or do I gather another pack under me and move out again? *looks over his shoulder before entering the Grey Peaks* Vorax will tell me...




Last 30 years:
Quests which have been important to Varka
As it shows below. All dwarven quests including big battle – that is where Varka Cleaveson has showed his face.
This is where he made a difference. Some time more and some times less.

The Orc Quest:
Varka took part in saving Lar from an invasion of orcs and duegars, even though he had to turn into an orc. This has left some scars.
Saving Lar gave him thought the opportunity to have an audience with Baron Blacklung.
The consequence of this was that the Crushers and Cleavers became a new home where they could regain their strength (from my own cdq). Further Varka was given an “item”.
Then when time came the Crushers and Cleavers would walk back into the war against Blood. This they did in the Final war (in Pranzis). 300 dwarven veterans fully armoured by Kobal Bluntaxe and Varka Cleaveson.

Due to the orc quest Varka found a home for his Clan.
Found out about the situation in Bloody Gate – and the “3 armies”.
Found information about the “real king of Bloody Gate”

Soul of a lost Ancient: In defense
Varka came with his Clan.
Varka tried to kill Broegar but died in his attempt.

Gloins cdq.
Varka did the research for finding the ingredient “Star gem” which was needed to make the cure. Would it not have been found the consequences of the Ulgrids I don’t know of?
With Jacchri and Path – the 3 gathered a force Big enough to get the “Star gem” bring it back and make the Cure.
By the Stonebrow Varka didn’t do anything special as all was set.
By the Ulgrids Varka met Deepsnur – 1 on the 7 generals of Vorax. Few words were spoken but the compliment from Deepsnur to Varka was more than amazing.
Varka charged and tried to kill who he believed was Eon – but only an image.

Kobal ecdq
Varka has never been pushed so much to the extreme as in this quest. He even gave his life up in battle and became an undead for a while.
This left some tremendous mind-scars but at the same time made it more clearly to him at Necromancers are the scum.

Viggs cdq
What happened here will not be revealed as players reads the wldq as well (harlas knows of it).
But it was an honour to help a Vorax Cleric.

The hunt:
The meeting with the “fallen” priest of Vorax has not been forgotten. A followers faith has to be strong no matter what. Otheriwse you end up “lost” (See intro to my wldq).

Varka was among the defenders of Velensk when the forces of blood attacked. He even sank the ship Blood mages were using.

Varka participated in the freedom of Roldem.
Varka charged and tried to kill Drezneb. Rashar stopped him though and convinced Varka they should slay the demon blocking their path instead of running around and jump into the portal. Varka died...

Milara quest:
Varka was part of the group moving into Milaras lair to stop his attempt to become a God.

Varka was taken part in saving Hlint from an invasion By defeating the attacking forces outside Hlint (the tactician)



Other achievements
After the Orc quest from Harlas – Varka Cleaveson created the Bloody hands. He was the founder of it.



Other quests Varka has been involved in
There are more quests Varka has been involved in but not really of “great” importance as far I recall. If a list is needed though – I will provide it.
The quests I refer to is the ones Harlas, Wintersheart, Meizter and aragwen did.




WLDQ/GOALS:
What I would like Varka Cleaveson is written below. These are not the thoughts of Varka but my wishes.
General: The path I would like Varka to walk down has to involve dwarves as it is clearly shown above. What also really matters to Varka was the “pack” (Bloody Hand) which he moved around with. Like he was used to while living by his Clan.
His ancestors, race, kin, the blood in his veins. All this means a lot to him and that is where he tries to make a difference so the world will remember of the Crushers and Cleavers.

Important: The path Varka could walk down have been set up as prioritised:


1) ”Eternal fighter”

For 30 years Varka has been taking part in many battle and wars and the dwarf has fallen countless times but risen again due to Father of Battle. The facts are clear for him that if you die in battle you return even stronger. The last 30 years is the proof of that to Varka. Ending Varka by dying of age is not the way I would like to see him move down the path.
What is the most extreme path a warrior of Vorax can take and become?
An ”Eternal fighter” – a summon of Vorax. Meaning even that after dying Varka can be brought back and fight for the cause of Vorax. Simple said: Vorax clerics will be able to summon a lvl xx Varka Cleaveson which will fight for him and not some “Legendary dwarf”.

Some probably think. “A dwarven summon is just a dwarf from the halls”. This is where I believe dead dwarven heroes (summons) chooses to continue to fight and don’t enter the halls because of their living kin. An ”Eternal fighter”.


2) Bloody Gate
The 3 armies have move out of Bloody Gate. Milaras plans have been blocked (temporarily). Who is left behind in Bloody Gate? Can it be retaken? Who would fit as a new leader? Something that would fit to my CDQ.


3) General of Vorax
Varka met Deepsnur (Vorax general) and had a small talk. Could Varka have given a good impression on the General? Would he fit in as a 8 general?




4) Path of the Battle rager:

This is something which has not been written much about. Therefore I made my own ideas about it and followed it. I will put it down here shortly followed by my idea.
Battle ragers are “simple dwarves” which at some point in their life becomes blessed by Vorax and is granted some abilities. How they are blessed, why are they are simple and react as they do? This is different from battle rager to battle rager.
Varka was given an image in his subconscious ness when blessed. This had an impact on his life. I already decided what image it is and played by it but that could be the opening for my WLDQ.
If this is not chosen I can reveal my thoughts on it and the Team can work on it.
