| Development Journals and Discussion Forum for character development discussion, journals etc. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. | Re: The Journal of a Striker - Yo ho, Yo Ho! A Private Life for Me! (Chapter 2) With Leringard recently having been devastated by an attack by a white dragon, Shiff has been spending many days and nights patrolling the city and helping rebuild. In between the time he spends there, Shiff is often seen returning home to Haven, or wandering Port Hempstead, but most noticeably holding a meeting in Fort Llast about a being known as Laura. While he advised those in attendance to leave Laura alone, sadly he could not convince an Aeridinite and a rather stubborn Toranite that it is in their best interest to leave Laura alone.

| Re: The Journal of a Striker - Yo ho, Yo Ho! A Private Life for Me! (Chapter 2) Over the next few weeks, Shiff is found often walking around Fort Llast, often talking with the City Guard and townsfolk alike about recent events, but always seemingly half dressing in armor, and always with his sword on his back. He also seems to go into the tower quite often.
What he's doing, though, is helping a friend. His dear friend Elohanna Dawnstar, a elf woman he calls "Sis", has been having a great deal of stress lately. Having been asked to help her, Shiff has temporarily living with her and her family, and has been very serious about it. Some in Fort Llast even saw him chase off a man that was too curious for his own good.

| The Will of the Striker Shiff wanders into his home one night, looking a bit pale and worn. He sits at his desk, careful not to make much noise and wake up his wife, and take out a piece of parchment, his journal, and a quill and ink. Opening the ink and dipping in his quill, he sighs, and mutters to himself. "Guess is about time I wrote one of these... Just in case..." The Will of Shiff Dragonheart
Striker To whomever might find this after I have passed on, I want them to know that I had done all I could to provide for my family before while living, and that I had always fought for those who had no one to turn to. I hope that those who knew me will remember me with fondness and pride. I hope I can be buried someplace of Honor, so that my story might inspire another young adventurer to try and do what I could not. - To my dear Wife, Valmara : I leave all the True I collected in my time, to use to pay off any debts I may have and to pay for me to be buried, or whats left of me to be buried. Also all of the gear I ever collected, boots, helmets, all of it (Except my swords and Armor), to be sold to provide her with some money, or kept as momentos. And to her I leave all the gems I ever mined from the Earth.
- To my Children, I leave them each one weapon of their choice, should they desire it, save my Mithril Greatsword, and 5,000 True each, so that they may use it to get whatever they might need.
- To the Temple of Beryl, all the jewelry I have left, so that Beryl will know how much I appreciated the skill she bestowed upon me years ago.
As for how I wish to be buried. I wish to be laid to rest as I was most often found in Life, in my armor, with my sword in my Hands. Sometimes I think Vorax smiled upon me when I was born, but I was never a very religious man, and though my Faith has swayed between that of the Deep Mother and the All Watching, I can not claim love by either... or any God for that matter. I hope only that my family will make a wise choice is how and where my body is to rest for all time.
