Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. ÂÂ Three day's on land. More than I've ever spent in one place. The women here are truely terrifying. Big swords, maces, and bows. It's like they're on a Man-Hunt. At least it used to be, when a woman wanted to kill you, you wouldn't know until you were looking at the wrong end of a knife. But here it's forget secrecy, let's just swing around our giant butter knifes and see what we can hit.
ÂÂ Mungo....delightful guy really. Eating goblins though. That is not quite what I'd call proper manners. Then there's Shard, always looking off into space. Seems whenever I look though, whatever he was looking at goes away. Quite the disapointment because it looks very interesting whatever it is. Delarade, beautiful woman but as I've said in the above paragraph, runs aroudn swinging a giant mace. Nearly took my head off the other day. And last of the people I've met is Kale. Want's to be a "Hero." But I told him, I said, "Too many heroes, not going to be anything for them to do if this keeps up. You should become a Demon Prince," I said. "Yes yes, a Demon Prince that's where the adventure is. Won't find any adventure if you try and do what ever bloody person in the whole world is doing. Have to set the trend not follow it." Not sure if he took me seriously or not, but who does?

ÂÂ Again I write in this book to record the happenings of my stay in Hlint. Well, I was commissoned to kill a goblin for a a Wagon Master. Of course with the prospect of 200 gold waiting my return I did it as quickly as I could. I learned in the trip back from the caves that there is not "right way" to hold a goblin head. By the hair gets your hands greasy. By the neck get's your hands bloody. By the mouth is just plain nasty. And I won't even talk about holding it by the nose. I've thus far helped 4 people with various tasks though my good deeds continue to get over looked.
ÂÂ I've met several more people since my last log. Tolinar, dwarf of flatulence, bad eyesight, and confused rambling about "all the demons he's killed." Perago, a bard of many talents, one of which is to make me be quite. It's the eyes you know. Could sware I saw them go red at the meeting of the alliance. Then there's Asher, no idea what he's good at, but he's a big fella and I'm not sure I want to find out. Then there's Micah, who like Tolinar doesn't seem to like me too much. And Raziki, fast little bugger who seems to like threatening people with his flaming gloves.
ÂÂ And the meeting of the Alliance. The whole time it seemed like everyone was waiting for someone else to talk. And everyone was allowed to talk as long as it wasn't me. For an example Perago asked the "adventurers," that'd be the group and myself to introduce ourselves and tell some old guy who's name I never got and his captian our skills. Now then most, like the dwarf just said. Tolinar, fighter. And it seemed to me the elf was having trouble getting any of them to speak. So I took it upon myself to speak up. "Camthilion, Third Circle Wizard, Apprentice Scribe, Alchemist, and Dwarf Annoyer," is what I said. And what did I get in return for my well put together introduction? I got Perago saying, "Many of these people are modest while others are cocky and brash." Cocky and Brash! Only three times have I been so insulted. *stomps off fuming at the thought of the previous night*

ÂÂ Well, it seems not Everyone, is annoyed by me. But it also seems to be that I am the only person who can be annoying. An example, I talk a lot. Is it my fault that my brain works so hard I always have something to say? That my intelligence so far surpasses those around me that I must continuously educate them? I think not. Now for those who have offended me. Knights no less are the biggest offender. They fight gallantly, heroicly. They beleive in honor, riteousness, pride, and justice. But where's their bloody dignity! Fighting goblins in a cave every time I go there with a knight they strip down to a small butt flap (that doesn't do a great job) and snooze among the wrecked goblin bodies. Now I won't write the names down, but come on! Now this has also happend with a women I was fighting with once, and while I'm not complaining, and it was a great sight I must say is there no shame, no dignity, no modesty left in this world. Or are we doomed to walk about butt naked in the days to come? *mumbles to himself as he closes the book and walks off*
