Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. Default Kat's Duel with Fate

The air was thick with the yellow Fog as Ozymandias hummed his tune, the crypt was filled with the light of Kat's blade as they walked to the end of the hall. There she peered through the yellow dust to see two leapers jump through at her, Ozy was quick to summon his Golem and they quickly dispatched the devourers. Then the Rakashasa appeared and began slinging there spells effortlessly with there mighty tiger like growls of arcane tongue. taking them down quickly was essential. Then the main guardians, the golems with shields and mighty spells. Ripping through there armor plating with intesity as the Demi-Lich began casting his summoning spells, the Marilith ripped through the plane with intense vigor. Taking down the last guardian the pair retreated back to the hall to face the marilith as the Demi-Lich laughed. Banishing the Lich back to Baator Kat ran heard the Lich coming and asked Aeridin for his favor in this task. The spell spun around the blade as it lit up with a brighter light. The Demi-Lich came around the corner where it met Kat swinging frantically and fast, slashing at bone and magic, slamming the Lich with everyone she had but with little avail. THe magic surrounding the skull was intense and smashed her sword back nearly breaking it as it rung out with a sad song. The iron was not meant to hold such power as this but it was holding strong with the light of Aeridin and she continued to slam her blade into the skull's bone connecting a few times as Aeridin's Wrath exploded sending small fragments apart. The skull continued chanting and chanting arcane spell after arcane spell until Kat was defensless. Ozymandias pulled her back away as another demon ran after them and the Demi-Lich recooperated. Summoning another Goelm Ozymandias fought off the demon so Kat could reacquire Aeridin's protection. After that she asked for favor again and jumped back into battle against the Demi-Lich the fight lasted many hours back and forth neither side gaining much way until The Demi-Lich summoned the Black Blade. Kat had no choice but to jump back and take a breather. Ozymandias was feeling the effects of the battle as well, looking concerned now at the blade that looked so forboding The Lich couldn't hold his concentration on the mighty blade but for so long and Ozy knew this when he felt the concentration giving way he summoned another golem and destracted the Demi-Lich long enough for Kat to jump back into the fray hardly protected by anything but the spells against the mind. For one more hour the battle raged until Kat swung he finally sword slash downwards splitting the skull's forhead then pushing it down to the ground as it exploded into millions of skull fragments. Kat had prooved to herself that she still had Aeridin's love as well as her abilities to protect herself in the time of need. She was back, and it was time again to take up arms against the foes of evil where ever they may lurk.
