| Forum Discussion (Post Login Problems Here) Post here if you're having problems logging in to the forums or if you want to discuss the forum software. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. When you join you'll also be able to communicate privately to other members (PMs), establish and respond to polls, upload and download content and access many other special features. Registration is fast, simple and absolutely free. So please. join our community today!

| Changes to New Posts You may notice now that threads deemed read will now no longer show up when you search New Posts instead of it being time based. Let me know how this works out.

| Re: Changes to New Posts If the system displays pages and pages of unread posts now, you may want to select "Forum Links -> Mark Forums Read"

| Re: Changes to New Posts I dont like this new system. After a day I got 15 pages of unread old posts. I said Mark Forum Read, and they all go away. But I still get post that say they are from a previous vist.
Before I could browse what I wanted to in new posts, and then I could Mark Forum as read, and it was all good.

".....But I still get post that say they are from a previous vist. ..."
Yeah, but anything above that is brand new and you can concentrate on that part of the list, ignoring everything below it. At least with everything below that line you can go to the older posts in case you want to revisit something (for whatever reason) without searching for it via search or forum by forum.
I use that "section" as a way of 'quick finding' stuff or as a way of telling myself to read everything above it.
So in a way it works the same and is 'all good' after marking the forum as read because you just read above that line if you are coming there for 'new posts'.
Or am I misunderstanding what you mean? To me it seems to be the best of both worlds, with a little adjusting in mindset perhaps. | | |

| Re: Changes to New Posts I prefer the way it was before. But that's maybe me. Come on people, throw in your two cents, so orth knows how to respond.
Edit: I take back what I said. It works for me now, hehehe

| Re: Changes to New Posts My last remark for now is that it is dificult to locate a post once you have posted in it yourself. Like when I wanted to add this statement to this thread it took me several minutes to locate it, since it does not come up when I use the new posts options. | | |

Before this change, the topics when searching for "new posts", stayed until you closed the browser or marked them all read. This made it very easy to return to a topic you had previously looked at, in case you thought of something to add or such. Now they disappear as soon as you have opened the topic up.

Though... maybe... make it selectable which one one wants to have?

To find them again, in the Forum options drop down menu under misc there is the subscribed threads list... voila... there's where you posted .
