Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. Default Ozymandias's new perch in Port Hampstead

Many are the day's most of us have entered the town and seen the Master bard, ever standing in the same location. He's wisdom available to any whom would ask. He's stories and history of Layanara informative and entertaining.

Tis this reason i ask the following, One more versed in the written text, and far more eloquent of verbage, to submit a request to the town council. The purpose being that the master bard is an asset to any he meets and anything we could do to assist him should be done.

My purposal is to have a chair placed at his chosen perch sight, perhaps with a bench or two for others of us to sit a partake of his wisdom and knowledge of the past. The cost of such of course will be made myself and others that relize his importance to all whom benefit from his presense. to wit i seed the collection with a pledge of one thousand trues to go to purchase and placement of the Master Bards perch

*a ragged piece of parchment is tacked below Praylor's note by a silver dagger. the words displayed are in common, and appear to be written in some sort of reddish-brown ink. there is no signature*
"The wisdom of the so-called master bard will soon freeze in the depths of the Abyss. Give him a perch, that it may be torn out from under him."

Default RE: Ozymandias's new perch in Port Hampstead

*the bardress approaches the bulletin board slowly as she sings a wordless song to the little one tottling behind her, she slides an intrigued eye over the latest notes posted, frowning slightly at the dagger sticking out of her board. She approaches still singing softly, and reads over the offending parchments. Her wordless song takes on lyrics in the form of a sing-song voice where a mother talks to her child in words he cannot possibly understand, but the tone is so pleasant he listens anyway.*
Dear dear little one, Port Hampstead is so far away,
An yet they bring threats and their hardships to a place already scorned.
*carefully pulling the dagger and both notes off the bulletin as she shifts back to her wordless melody, turning with a gentle smile to the little one nearly close enough to snatch at her skirts for balance. She rolls up the parchements together and slips the dagger into a pouch swinging at her side. She lovingly scoops up the little boy in one arm and nuzzles him gently her tune shifting back to her sing song lyrics.*
If they want our help for things, they should come ask,
No person in this town cares for a monument not of the Hold.
Maybe a trip to Hampstead to lighten our load?
*she giggles softly and gently strokes the toddler's face, he echoing her expression in just a simple smile. Resuming her good morning dance with the little boy, they resume their rounds about the Tavern making it ready for the day.*

Etienne Navarre: Well, she may wander into my dreams. Wouldn't it be nice, if I could call her by name and pretend we've met before? I've waited a long time for such a lady.
