Screen Shots
« on: May 24, 2005, 10:14:00 pm »
Hee  ;) I feel really stupid posting this, but it's just something I want to know.  I want to know how to take screen shots.  I've always heard of people doing it and now I'm really interested in learning how.  If anyone could explain to me how to do it, it would be very much appreciated.

get the scene you want, hit the 'print screen' button on your keyboard.
That saves it to your NwN root directory. then open up your favorite editing program (photoshop works great) Browse your folders to the NwN directory and select your pic... it will be named "screenshot000' with another digit on the end I think denoting screenshot 1,2,3,4 etc.

You can edit the zoon level and such and crop out the stuff you don't want and save it again.

There are player photo albums too (click the albums link near the top of the forum) you can make your own album, but make sure the file size is under 200k.

Mac: unless you spill Dr. Pepper on your newer keyboard and have to use the keyboard from your old g3, which only goes to f12. Then you need to go into your key settings(in game) and change it to something that is actually on your keyboard. I use the . button on the number pad.

lesson- keep the Dr. away from the keyboard.

the screenshots are saved under a TGA format, which not all image viewers can read so you need to have one which will view them

XnView is free and you can view .tga with it. Think you can
convert the file format to other more common ones with it
too.

If you don't have F13, you should have a Key that says Print Screen. (Mine actually says Print Screen/SysRq, but it's the same thing)

If you are on a mac and have either an old keyboard or a laptop that doesnt have an F13 key, you have to get a new one or a full sized keyboard.

You only need the F13 if you're on a mac though.  its print screen as ZV said if youre on a PC.
