| General Discussion If you have anything off topic to say or you are unsure where to post, this is the place to do so. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. When you join you'll also be able to communicate privately to other members (PMs), establish and respond to polls, upload and download content and access many other special features. | // OOC knowledge for those attending Gloin's ECDQ // This post is OOC and is here to help the players on tomorrows episode of Gloin's ECDQ - War plans. This plan, or a modified one, will be presented to the attending players at some point, and I thought it would be nice if they could visualize it in detail. I sent a map of the domain of Clan Stonebrow to Gloin, who then (together with Bjorn Stoneforge, General of King Bartoc's army) made a plan for an attack. This map is attached to this post. Gloin's plan: Ok,I broke my troops in to ten squads, five regular, five recruits. On the map I made notes, SQ for squads, sap, for engineers, c for cleric BA are for balistas. ( those are strickly for defensive purposes, and as i tell of the plan it will be clear why, if not than ignore them.) area E this is where the main attack will fall. The five squads are three are vets and two recruits, along with all the adventurers i can gather. We will by shear numbers overwhelm, and defeat them in detail. Area C will with one vet and one recruits will begin a probing action to test the defences and hopefully distract any drow reinforcements, from the main battle. This will be led by the Stonebrow general. This attack will begin about two hours after the main thrust has started. Area B holding action made of vets Area D holding action made of vets Area A reserves, made of recruits for areas that need it, or the attack on area C if it can gain a victory. I plan on this being a two day battle, after defeating the drow in the north, the surviving members of the attack will later in the day join the attack on area C. With the added numbers and the attack should drive the Drow from there. Day on will include the attacks E and C Survivors from those two battles will regroup in area A where I have two clerics stationed especially for the task of healing the wounded. Day two will begin with the attack area D than followed up with an attack to finish area B. The reason for the Basistias are strictly for defence for those two sectors during the first day of battle, along with all the barracides that can be placed, this will hopefully keep the Drow from gaining any advantge in those sectors till i can move my forces around. By the look of the map i do have good lines of communcations. and should be able to move troops arond as needed. I have also sent a letter via runner to the headquarters of the Milstone allience, of the tunnel system near Blackford castle, and of the Drow threat, it was givin to the watch commander. ( if you need on for real i will post something under the thread i started in the call for Heros i posted

| RE: // OOC knowledge for those attending Gloin's ECDQ Attached to this one is the map and notes without Gloin's notes on it. It is a Microsoft Word document. The quality is better. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
