| General Discussion If you have anything off topic to say or you are unsure where to post, this is the place to do so. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. When you join you'll also be able to communicate privately to other members (PMs), establish and respond to polls, upload and download content and access many other special features. Registration is fast, simple and absolutely free. So please. join our community today!

So as I was playing other online game all I kept thinging was In layo its a lot better, in Layo the players are a lot more in to the game. Try doing RP with some nuts who just loved that football game last night and OOC all the time.
OK so Im stuck a 7 to 9th level, and most of my game time is eaten up with 1/2 logings as I dont have longer but the truth is I missed layo so once i have the game back install on my new Dell M90
Mille and Spugly will be back,
and With NWN2 on its way I hope the big L and the God like DM/world cration team give us Layo Mark2

| RE: HAve ya missed me Welcome back! Zug is still stuck in that same range (just a handful of XP away from level 9), though, unfortunately, I won't be online much over the next few weeks. If you do happen to see him, and I can spare the hour or so, a trip to Haven for iron and other materials is always in order.
For those who didn't see it before, the missus and I are expecting again... only this time, it is going to be twins. As such, we have to find larger living space, so I'll be spending my prime Layo hours cleaning, packing, and otherwise getting our townhouse ready for sale.

| Re: HAve ya missed me If you haven't played Civ IV or Heroes of Might & Magic V yet, those too are on the Lonnarin-Approved "Must Play" list. Civ is just wicked all-around, especially with the Fantasy Realm "Fall From Heaven 2" patch, and Heroes V tweaked up its graphics and gameplay to kind of feel like end-boss Final Fantasy 9 esper-style combat. Titan's Quest, on the other hand, feels like a Diablo II carbon copy, which is good only if you're REALLY bored and already beat everything else. I loved Guild Wars' graphics and how they made the exploring areas team-independant, but being only human with 4 classes and nobody RPing got old quick for me. Then there's Elder Scrolls: Oblivion... MUST PLAY
In all, such games are but methadone in the grand scheme of Layo. I quit watching release dates long ago.

| *grins* Layonara methadone - an excellent analogy. Though I feel the Layo heuristic is healthier than the WoW "addiction" because of the active discouragement of true grinding or farming.
And why newfangled Civ IV? Civ II is still plenty addictive, IMHO. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
