| General Discussion If you have anything off topic to say or you are unsure where to post, this is the place to do so. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. | What are you playing right now? So, what other games are you into right now?
I'm playing Quake Wars and Forged Alliance in my precious spare time.
I recommend both to anyone who likes stuff blowing up. | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Eight-Bit For This Useful Post: | |

| Re: What are you playing right now? As my router's had too much trouble over the past few ages to handle even the light traffic of NWN, I've been playing a lot of single-player games.
WCIII, Portal, Nethack, the Doom Roguelike...

| Re: What are you playing right now? Yeah, Vampire Bloodlines rocked. Too bad Troika Games went bankrupt shortly thereafter. It was one of the funniest, most disturbing games in a long long while. One of the best FPS-RPG crossovers of all time.
Right now I just finally beat Gothic III on my huge trilogy marathon, only to find that there are at least 2 more different endings, so I'm powerlevelling the heck out of it to see how fast I can beat it the 2nd time.
Been mostly playing The Guild II, a medeival mercantile dynasty sim where you get to slave away your days in hopes of making a profitable buisiness, then get married in order to hand the family fortune down the line. Pretty funny gameplay, I find that the quickest way to strike it rich is to be... not a brigand, a blacksmith or a scholar... but to be a pig farmer. You can just sit around all day shovelling manure and slopping hogs and within the first two seasons wind up with enough gold to enter lesser nobility. Of course, this angers the incumbant nobles to see the smelly master of manure rise above them, so I usually make my farmer a mighty fighter decked out in platemail and battleaxes with martial arts and constitution maxed. Then when brigands try to raid the farm, we chop them up and feed em to the hogs.

| Re: What are you playing right now? No other games than NWN installed on my compy at the current moment, but I do own the following: Half-Life 1, both Baldur's Gates and their expansion disks in one good cheap buy! Black & White, Neverwinter Nights 2 and the expansion, and of course Vampire the Masquerade - Bloodlines
For the latter I recommend entering a google search of "Vampire Masquerade Bloodlines unofficial patch". That ought to fix a bunchload of the nasty bugs that Troika had to leave to the game. It's a big download, and you just got to patch the game to Troika's last patch, and then unpack the large file to the install directory, and voila
