Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. RE: Custom Portraits
Here's the portait files of The Heretic (if you want to see what my GM character looks like).
You'll need to unrar all the files and save them in your portrait directory of your NWN folder. http://www.xs4all.nl/~ketterij/Azer_portrait.rar
Enjoy

RE: Custom Portraits
Here are the links to the custom portraits I use. I tend to use the same one for female halflings (Friappi and Buppi etc) but unfortunatly this no longer seems to be on NWN vault but I have the zip file if anyone wants it or knows where it can be uploaded to.

If you want me to host it Virg, just drop it in my email. ghost@ghostwhowalks.net
More than happy, just stick layonara in the title so I know its not spam.

RE: Custom Portraits
A lot of people have told me that they couldn't see the head of my character Belinde, I thought it was a CEP head but as usual I was totally wrong so after a day of searching the contents of innumeral Haks I (with Eldorans help - thanks ) eventually found it. I've managed to extract the files required which need to be placed in your override folder and I've also put her portrait in the same file. Its now a very small download (206kb) and I've also created a web page so you can download it and the portraits of my other characters.
and if anyone downloads this please come and seek out Belinde so I know its working ok. Oh and if you have a problem with the webpage please PM me ... Its my first ever webpage so I may have made mistakes. Thanks
Although most already have the portrait I use for Rev since it belongs to quite a few portrait packs the version I'm using it is named in a peculiar way and I've been told some people can't see it, so I uploaded it and it's downloadable in here.
It would be oh so wrong if some people couldn't see the full extent of her beauty.

Actually you can change the portrait of a character after it has been created. First you find the old portraits in your portrait folder and simply copy & paste their filenames to the new portraits. Then you replace the old files with the new ones.
As I said, it's tricky, also you need to get everyone else to update the portrait or they'll still be seeing the old one. But it's possible.

Okay, let's try this again, the server was giving me fits uploading my picture, and I'm not sure how to make is show up,(the jog anyway) but let me try and upload it becuase it's the one I want to use. It's really cool. I couldn't get the H.tga file to attach, so what should I do? it's 252 compressed, 385 normal.
Here's my character, Kkimr Lodehelm. I changed a few things from the original and added the Dorand Symbol as a pendant.
Edit: The file isnt working anymore... just send me an email at mikewickenden@yahoo.ca and ill send it to you. Use "Layonara Pic" as the subject header.
This is the art for Elixir Gutshaker (as requested by Calem)

My new characters head, please unrar to your override directory.
I THINK his portrait was in the old portrait pack we had, I made it and added it ages ago. If its not showing up for folks, please tell me and I'll get it posted here sometime soon. www.ghostwhowalks.net/har_head.rar

Ok, I was told Har's portrait wasn't in the pack. So I've uploaded it. www.ghostwhowalks.net/har_port.rar
Please download both that and the head linked above.

This is the new portrait of Valcar Agarwaen, former Boromir Agarwaen. I couldn´t use that name or the previous portraits...
Very well. Here they are, be sure to download ´em and it´d be nice if you guys added ´em to the portraitpack under downloads aswell. The H-portrait was naturally to big so I attached it as a jpeg. Just resave it as a .tga file to your portraits folder when downloaded.
I´ve got files for better lookin hands and some more heads but no space to upload it to. If you want em please send me a message and I´ll get back to you regarding them... See ya all soon.

There are quite a few decent pics in that package. One thing to keep in mind though is that the servers that Avlis runs its downloads off of are incredibly slow. This download will take many of the non-highspeed people literally hours to get.
The site also has the portaits broken down into smaller packs, but they are still pretty sizeable, as are ALL the downloads there.

I downloaded this but I didnt look at all of them. Please make sure the links that you put on this forum to not have anything which would not comply to the family friendly atmosphere we try to portrait here on Layonara. If you do please put up a bit of a warning that it contains adult content.
Thanks
