| General Discussion If you have anything off topic to say or you are unsure where to post, this is the place to do so. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. When you join you'll also be able to communicate privately to other members (PMs), establish and respond to polls, upload and download content and access many other special features. | RE: three cheers for Rhiz! *nods* Yep, he runs some really good quests. That is part of the reason I wish more could/would attend his Dregar quests. | | |

| RE: three cheers for Rhiz! Lara and Bidwick had a great time being 'minions' last night and leading a group of heroes to thier doom *grins* although everyone escaped reletively unscathed it was more of a stalemate than and victory for anyone, and there was no huge hacking battle, it was all RP'd conflict (aside from the normal spawns) And very ominous.
If there were a payroll I'd ask for Rhiz to get a raise

| RE: three cheers for Rhiz! I'm glad someone posted this. I had a great time last night. I ended up getting a whopping 2 hours sleep before the kids got me up and it was well worth it. That rocked! I loved the horror suspense atmosphere. Bid and Lara were cool as the zombielike minions. I still say my favorite part of the night though was when Lindariel stomped on my dead body. I laughed my butt off when she did that. I am even laughing about it now! Thanks Rhizome. Great job.

| RE: three cheers for Rhiz! I just skipped to tomorrow on the calander, and noticed with quite a bit of dismay that Dregar was not listed on thuursdays... I hope this is an accidental omission and that Dregar thursdays aren't canceled due to lack of participation I was just getting into the schedule of things.

| RE: three cheers for Rhiz! Thank you much for all the positive feedback friends. It means so much to me.
What I've discovered about quests, is that their success and enjoyment are determined by the players. It's really the players who drive a good quest, I find. When I think a quest really goes well is when I'm reacting to player's input and facilitating their interaction with the world. Of course, a good 'ol out-of-the-blue NPC and challenge is fun too.Â
What I'm trying to say is that a considerable amountÂthe credit for enjoyable quests falls on player's shoulders. So, three cheers for our fantastic players! And another three cheers for a fantastic and incredibly engrossing game world, made vibrant and dynamic by all involved, most notably Leanthar.
Looking forward to the next time. Much respect.
