Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

| Chat Logging Ever wanted to recall something your 24 INT character shouldn't be forgetting? Or your Wise old cleric forgot something last week.
Under your [Game Options] section in the nwnplayer.ini add the following line:
ClientEntireChatWindowLogging=1
The chat log gets created in your logs folder naturally, something like nwClient.log
If you want to keep your logs rotating so they never get erased (very handy thing or else every time you start up nwn you will lose your last log), check out this utility on the vault. http://nwvault.ign.com/View.php?view....Detail&id=155

| RE: Chat Logging Orth, I have the following three shortcuts on my desktop for each of the three servers:
C NeverwinterNights\NWN\nwmain.exe +connect 64.127.106.68:5121 +password layoplayer
C NeverwinterNights\NWN\nwmain.exe +connect 64.127.106.69:5121 +password layoplayer
C NeverwinterNights\NWN\nwmain.exe +connect 64.127.106.70:5121 +password layoplayer
Is there a way to configure the utility you posted above to direct connect in the same manner?

| RE: Chat Logging I got this file (layo-west.bat) on my desktop:
@echo off
SET NWN_PATH="D NeverwinterNights"
SET GLR_PATH="C Program Files\Gnomish Log Rotator"
cd %NWN_PATH%
start /w nwmain.exe +connect 64.127.106.68:5121 +password PASSWORD_GOES_HERE
cd %GLR_PATH%
glr.exe
You might want to change the paths if you have installed NWN and the gnomish log rotator somewhere else.
And change PASSWORD_GOES_HERE to the layo password
For layo-central.bat and layo-east.bat you just have to change the IP (64.127.106.68:5121) to
64.127.106.69:5121 (central) and 64.127.106.70:5121 (east)

| RE: Chat Logging This is a great tip...except I haven't been able to make it work. I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions as I've not been able to find any help on Bioware's NWN support forums.
When I opened the nwnplayer.ini file, there was no [Game Options] section, so I created one and added the single line below it:
ClientEntireChatWindowLogging=1
However, the chat log file is never updated or saved after exiting from NWN. Neither is the chat log file ever updated while the game is running. The file exists (nwClient.log) but the file size is always 0 and is always blank whenever it is opened.
Has anyone else seen this, or perhaps have any advice regarding another approach?

| Re: Chat Logging Ok I Downloaded all 3 programs mentioned.
I opened nwn in clobber with Cleave open and yet no chat log.
I also logged in with the other on open and yet all chat logs are 0 KB.
Is there any chance someone can post a walkthrough for us computer dumb?

| I think you forgot to add a line in the nwnplayer.ini
Under your [Game Options] section in the nwnplayer.ini add the following line:
ClientEntireChatWindowLogging=1

| Re: Chat Logging I'm seeing the same thing, the files are being created and rotated, but there is never anything there. What did I do wrong? I put the line: ClientEntireChatWindowLogging=1 in both nwn and nwnplayer, but no dice.

| Re: Chat Logging I can't get the GLR to work for me, having two hard-drives seems to be causing it. The creator mentioned this in the NW Vault, but didn't explain. Hrm..
Also, 'Cleave' won't work for either myself or Kindo - do the .dll files just go into the main directory, or should there be a specific folder for them? That's the only thing I can think of - what's happening is none of the text appears, only the "[Malformed Line]" - crafting, for example, or doing a jump (talking to oneself I assume). Despite all our clicking of what to show and not to show, the program won't display any text whatsoever from any log file other than this! Any ideas?

You might want to change the paths if you have installed NWN and the gnomish log rotator somewhere else.
And change PASSWORD_GOES_HERE to the layo password
For layo-central.bat and layo-east.bat you just have to change the IP (64.127.106.68:5121) to
64.127.106.69:5121 (central) and 64.127.106.70:5121 (east) | is this sepose to activate the log rotator when you exit the game? if so the it doesn't work for me? is there anythign I should be thinking off? anything else that needs to be changed for it to work?
let me know please. | | |

| Re: Chat Logging with the chat rotator you get a nwn.exe. After you install the log rotator you should use that exe to start up the game. it will start up the rotator at the same time.

Personally I use ask to save and I input manually a title.
