Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. When you join you'll also be able to communicate privately to other members (PMs), establish and respond to polls, upload and download content and access many other special features. Default A guild idea..

I have seen that there is many drows on layonara and many of them are not as evil as their ancestors..

I was just thinking about a guild with a group of neutral or good drows trying to prove to the world that they don't want to just harm and kill people. That also drows can be much helpful as they can be evil.. I have also read many character development threads and it seems many have problems not getting yelled at (wich is a bit fun to though ) , so pherhaps someone wants to show what they are capable of.. Or it can be other races with to, outcasts like half-giants, orcs, duergar and so on..

Though starting a gulid seem to pretty tough though as much as it seems incredibly fun..Heading out on quest's together and show the world what they are capable of.. Someone think this sounds like a good idea or?

Sounds like a good idea, especially if an evil aligned drow guild opens up...

*gleefully remembers Kobal being dropped like a sack of potatoes by a drow assassin*
"Easier"... riiiiight... Anyway, it's an idea. However since it's a guild idea, don't expect it to be run by a DM NPC or many people to have interest in it. Honestly it makes more sense for a guild to have a specific objective that the organization is united towards. Ie: Orcbashers are a crafting guild, they help each other... err... craft. The Dark Alliance (for the time it was there) didn't do much, but did have a goal they were united for.
However just your generic drow guild... what's the purpose? How do you intend to unite people under your cause, and how do you intend to go about carrying it out?

I am not thinking just of drows though.. But I think that pherhaps the guild would work to make people accept them more and doing "deeds" to prove it.. This is just an idea.. Just thought someone might think the same.. Sounded much more cooler in my head he

Ahh... * Kobal recalls the incident with the ONE drow assassin, who followed him through the Battle Fens to Port Hampshire, where he then was "laid to rest" by Kobal and Harg in unison. *

Hmm... * Then there was the other incident with Kobal coming upon a nearly dead Buppi in the outskirts of Pranzis, when he suddenly was attacked by TWO drow assassins with petrification arrows, and received the mark of the spider. *

heh... needed clarification.

Just a point for discussion...

It's hard enough for one drow...or any other "outcast" race...to gain acceptance and overcome the fear and mistrust that most people have for those of their kind.

Put a whole bunch of them together in a group roaming the countryside, and you have the makings for an all-out panic....regardless of what the groups actions may be.

Also...if I'm right, the drow are about to become REALLY unpopular again and do some mean, nasty things to the people of the surface. *looks around nervously*
