| General Discussion If you have anything off topic to say or you are unsure where to post, this is the place to do so. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

| Great Smiting Does this feat exist? And if so, what prereqs does it have?
The feat Epic Paladin says that Great Smiting is an option.

| RE: Great Smiting Great Smite
Type of Feat: Class
Prerequisite: 21st level, Charisma 25+, Smite Evil.
Specifics: Whenever the character makes a successful smite attack, it adds 2X the character's level to damage. This feat may be taken multiple times, up to a maximum of 10X.
Use: Combat Mode.
Yup, it does exist, and it's very nice.

| RE: Great Smiting Please excuse me for jumping on this thread, but I'm a little confused about this feat (not that I'll be able to take it anytime soon, if at all).
Do you mean that you could take this feat say, twice and you'll be able to use Great Smite 2x/day? Take the feat a third time and you can use it 3x/day? Up to a max of 10x/day?

| RE: Great Smiting As far as I can see, it only affects damage. I believe
Smite Evil adds your Paladin/Champion lvl to damage.
So with great smiting it would be lvlx2 in damage.
A lvl 30 Paladin should then add 60 in damage with
2x great smiting. But you are playing a paladin so
you should know better than I how Smite Evil works.
I'm not all that certain.

| RE: Great Smiting Please correct me if I'm wrong:
You can only use Great Smite once per day, but if you take the feat more than once you increase the multiplier. And the maximum multiplier is 10x (so the feat can be taken a maximum of five times).
So, in theory, a 33rd level paladin could have taken this feat five times and is able to add on 330 to damage?

| RE: Great Smiting Yes. Correct as far as I know. (about the damage multiplier
and times per day)
If you want more smitings per day, get extra smiting.
Then you will have 3/day.

| RE: Great Smiting Great Smiting just improves your Smite Evil feat, it doesn't grant you any extra uses per day.
Think of it as an uber upgrade to your Smite Evil feat.
Also, taking the feat 5 times would multiply your class level by 5, so for instance a level 30 paladin would dish out an extra 150 damage when successfully simiting a foe.
