| General Discussion If you have anything off topic to say or you are unsure where to post, this is the place to do so. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. | Yet another question.. On Layonara, do you learn new spells every other lvl (i.e lvl 6 you learn a new spell circle, lvl 7 new spells, lvl 8 learn a new spell circle)
or is it lvl 3 new spells, lvl 5 new spells. What i'm asking is, if i were to be a wizard lvl 1, then become a fighter lvl 2, then back to lv 3 wizard, would i get the lvl 2 spells when i reach lvl 3 or would i just have to choose more spells?

| RE: Yet another question.. Spell progression is the same as standard NWN. You will only gain additional spells as you gain levels in Wizard, however. Fighter levels give you no new spells. | | |

| RE: Yet another question.. no, sorry my question isn't very clear.
to go up a lvl in the magic circle, do you have to take two lvls as a wizard.
so do i have to do lvl 1, 2 and 3 to learn lvl 2 magic circle? and lvl 4 and 5 to learn lvl 4 magic circle and 6 and 7 to get the lvl 5 magic circle and so on..
or can i do lvl 1 wizard, lvl 2 fighter, lvl 3 wizard(and learn new spell circle on lvl 3), get the picture?

| RE: Yet another question.. no you can't, and I think you've got that a bit wrong. You don't get level 5 spells at level 7, you get them at level 9. And it doesn't matter when you take the wizard levels, you will only get more and new spells when you take a level in wizard. If you take level 1 wizard, 2 fighter, 3 wizard, you'll be casting as a level 2 wizard.

| RE: Yet another question.. At first level a wizard starts with the first circle as highest. From that point on every two levels of wizard will give acces to a new circle.
lvl 1: First circle
lvl 3: Second circle
lvl 5: Third circle
lvl 7: Fourth circle
lvl 9: Fifth circle
lvl 11: Sixth circle
lvl 13: Seventh circle
lvl 15: Eight circle
lvl 17: Ninth circle
EDIT: That's what you get when you add a proper table, someone posts before your post. Shouldn't you be chopping wood with Taislin, Varnart?

| RE: Yet another question.. Wood chopping takes too long when you play a halfling wizard, even with martial weapon proficiency. Last time I chopped for nearly half an hour, chopping all the hickory north of Hlint, and when I went to make the scrolls, even being buffed and not being very bad at cooking, I only got two scrolls.
