Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. If there was ever a time to start a new character, now's the time!
And all the rest of you like me that don't have the time to devote to another character, it's a good time to show the new folks around and meet new characters.
My daughter's birthday celebration is this weekend, so I won't be around during the (CDT) day, but I might peek in late at night after all the in-laws have gone to bed.

So, it starts and ends when exactly? I would imagine it starts on each player's particualar time zone, begining Friday morning and ending on Sunday night? (for example for me: it would start at 00:01 EDT on Friday and end on 23:59 EDT on Sunday?)

I am not entirely sure when it will stop/start. Some time Friday morning and some time late Sunday night (or early Monday morning). There is no "strict" guideline on stop/start in my mind, but it will be at least 72 hours.

As of 7AM EDT/6AM CDT/11AM GMT (the rest of you work it out for yourself), the 2x XP/1.5x GP weekend is in effect.
And remember, just because the XP and GP have gone up doesn't mean the RP should go down.

Thanks Leanthar, Dorg, and everyone else for the weekend. I think I've caught back up on sleep now! It was totally worth it. I had a blast and I hope everyone else had a lot of fun too!
(And thanks to all the people that in spite of the massive amounts of bashing this weekend STILL contributed fantastic rp of their characters throught the whole event.)

Fantastic weekend and I must agree with others who have said that they managed to get some great RP in as well as some extra bashing.
