Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. Default Now I KNOW I've Finally Snapped!!!

Just woke up this morning to my roommate bangin on the wall screaming "I'M TRYING TO SLEEP!". Funny thing is, I was asleep at the time. I had this strange dream where I was having band practic with my musician friends, and we were going over a song that we were to perform. It was... get this... a cheesefactor 80s chick ballad! I even still remember all the percussives, the intro, the melody and the chorus, all etched into my mind now. It seems that I was singing this in my sleep so loudly that I woke him from dark slumber, which then woke me up, all jumpy.

The scary factor of this all was that the song came entirely from my dream state, and now that I'm piecing it together, it's actually quite good for a cheesy 80s chick ballad! Apparantly it was about contracting vampirism, starting off with a very simple percussive line and lyrics about seeing the last sunset before the change. Kind of a sad melody building up, then the chorus really high pitched "Whoah oh oh! Never see the sun, never breath or sleep, never eat or drink, to the night I go, that is where I creep" I remember those words ringing in my head over and over.

This has been reoccuring a lot lately. I also keep having weird dreams where glam rockers with big hair are shredding out massively intense solos or simple rythms. Then I wake up, run to the guitar and immediately start playing them out, perfectly and above and beyond my guitar capabilities as of yet. So I stay awkae for maybe two or three hours playing them over and over again, until I remember them for good.

I honestly think I may be getting haunted by a ghost who died circa 83-84 who was big in the pop-glam music industry at the time. Or maybe it was my past reincarnation or something, having been born in '81.

Not certain... all I know is I'm getting more and more insane...

I believe that these dreams will continue to haunt me until I complete some ghost's long forgotten, unreleased glam-rock album. And that is what I shall do, despite all likelyhood that it will flop in this era. Who knows, maybe modern pop has become so bad its time for glam ballads to make a comeback.

Hey, those dreams are better than mine.
(hey, if you don't know what 'those dreams' are, don't think about it)
I mean, mine have gotten low budget. my last nightmare was so cheesy I literaly heard "here comes the scary part". I also remember that i abruptly stopped screaming in that dream because my father was sleeping.

oh and about 'those dreams' IT NEVER HAPPENS! It's always SO close too. most recently my dream cut-out after i volinteered for some 'administrative duties' with someone.(wow, I dodged that pretty good)

so, if you've snapped, I'm bankrupt!(which is worse)

hehehehe... Mine are usualy epic adventures involving me being completely over powered and afraid to do anything.

Or..my personal favorite.... the falling dream... It brings instant joy and gratification to slam into the pavement in my dream... I wake up and have bruises and phantom pain but it's an addrenal rush. Flying dreams aren't the same... you don't slam into a wall the same way you slam into the ground.

Generaly, what ever I've been obsessed with will be some great and weird dream. Like the lates character development I've been working on. Crafting a character for another PW that would shatter the traditional boundries of the subrace yet stay within the acceptable range, a chacter who's premise asks a philisophical question. Spend days working on it and have been obsessed with getting to play it for weeks now. Now in my dreams I wake up in a NWN style world as a werewolf... yeah.. kinda weird. Especialy considering a massive werewolf with my sense of humour and rediculous fears and concerns.

I was playing City of Villains and created a really cool necromancer type who's the epitomy of dedicated LE. Menacing and ruthless, but he's got the worst luck in is creations. His zombies quote poetry and argue like high faluting socilites. Zombie"To be... or not to be... That is the question".. zombie2 "No no no your tonal inflections are ALL wrong".. Necromancer *standing at his laptop/spellbook* "What? To be or not to be? Your a friggin ZOMBIE!"... zombie1 "My cover may be worn... but my pages are guilded with silver and gold" zombie2"Really, to be equated with 'zombies'... I mean.. what *is* my motivation?.. utter type casting"... zombie1 "utterly rediculous I say".. zombie2"Indeed, now help me with this uncultured philistines cranial case" *Zombies tear a gangster to pieces*

yeah... for a few days my dreams were infested with wierd visions of zombies arguing Frued over a good Port

I have to say... my mind is a really fun place to be
