Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

| I'm bored, so a random question... Well, first, I'll say this...Every second weekend I go to my mums, so I have no computer fast enough to run NWN. That means I'll be wandering the forums whenever I'm not doing something else, so watch out for me!!!
To the question, what kinda music you all like? And please, no hating on people's taste in music, everyone is different. I personally like alot of underground hip hop, apocalyptic rap and a bit of rock thrown into it all, like Red Hot Chilli Peppers and the such....

| Re: I'm bored, so a random question... It seems with me that there isn't a music genre that doesn't have a song i don't like. :-P
The genre's that I like the most these days are gothic rock, A bit of metal and normal rock.
Artist's or groups I like are: Within Temptation, After forever, Nightwish, Linkin park, Limb Bizkit, Rammstein and some more.
Older groups or artist's I like but haven't lissened to much, are: Queen, 2 unlimited, Micheal Jackson, Five, Nsync and perhaps a few more. I do still like them.
other genres also have great songs, But I can't think of them right now. :-S
Oh I just remembered one, DJ Tiesto. And you know what? Like me he is from The Netherlands. makes me feel proud. Sorry about that just had to type it down.

| Re: I'm bored, so a random question... I have a broad range of music tastes:
Early KISS to later KISS. You can throw in all the late 80's-early 90's hair metal, too. Oh, and mid-to-late 70's top 40.
Yeah, I'm that old.

| RE: I'm bored, so a random question... New swing. Old swing. Classical. Disco. 40's, 50's. 70's thought rock; i.e. Steely Dan, Warron Zevon. 80's. Dance and techno and trance.
Pretty much everything except 60's, rap, opera, and country (which makes me violent for some reason....I'LL KILL YOUR DOG, YOUR PICKUP AND YOUR DANG CHEATIN' WIFE ARRRGHHHHHHH....)

| Re: I'm bored, so a random question... I'm with ya, jjkolb, it's all about the good old hair band classic rock, 90's retro, plus some Jimi, and I'd have to say there are a number of good rock bands out right now, like HIM and Hinder, and I'm still really into Chevelle.

| Re: I'm bored, so a random question... I'm pretty stuck on one genre at the moment. Pillar, Falling Up, Thousand Foot Krutch, Kutless, Relient K, and DC Talk are what I enjoy at the moment. I do however own some Third Day, Casting Crowns, Steven Curtis Chapman, Building 429, and Avalon. And a bit of good punk/skater music is always good with Stellar Kart and Hawk Nelson. (First one to guess the genre get's a cookie.)

| RE: I'm bored, so a random question... All variatons of trance, be it progressive, hard, chillout or vocal. I can't get enough of it and I listen to it most of the day. Also depending on the mood an occasional piece of classical music is thrown in. | | |

| Re: I'm bored, so a random question... I'm more of a hard rock listener, but I mix it up with hip-hop, rap and the occasional trance song. That's what I listen on my own, when I'm out somewhere, I really don't care what's playing as long as it's got rhythm and beat.

| Re: I'm bored, so a random question... Zero, the genre is contemporary christian, or alternative christian, depending on the band listed. I grew up on DC Talk.

| RE: I'm bored, so a random question... What? You don't like Cold Chisel!?!?!?!!?
Most types of music I like, but I think they should but the "c" back into rap..... :P
I find that current R&B appears to be what rap used to be. Maybe I am showing my age.
But personally, I like anything from Jethro Tull (anyone know what he is famous for)to RHCP, to the Gunners to Billy Joel to Garbage to Moby to the Beatles.
I don't like Evlis because he is too popular (must admit he did write some fine songs though).

| RE: I'm bored, so a random question... Liking mostkind of music genres myself ...from clasic to speedmetal realy.
Do like some bands or singers better then others , but thats normal .
Have the newest cd from Queensryche in my player for the large part now,
switching that with Suicidal Tendencies and ...believe it or not Elvis...
Btw Scotcar...Elvis didnt write that much ...he had writers ..mainly : Leiber& Stoller......
Best thing about Elvis i think is the fact that he wasnt affraid to do versions of songs
that made others ..( like the Beatles) big...never heard that the Beatles did a song of
Elvis anyway...even heard that they didnt want to cover Elvis songs because they knew
they couldnt do it any better ( this came from an Elvis fan dont know if its true)

| RE: I'm bored, so a random question... In no particular order and by no means complete... here is a list of artists that I like in the various genre clumps given: Electronica: Paul Oakenfold Blank and Jones Loic Tambay Enigma Tiesto Carl Cox Fluke Orbital Orb http://di.fm Industrial/Alternative/etc: Nine Inch Nails Skinny Puppy Ministry Alice in Chains STP Red Hot Chili Peppers Jane's Addiction Metric Jakalope Pilate Classic/Retro/Big-Hair/Blah Rock: Pink Floyd Led Zepplin CCR Jimi Hendrix Stevie Ray Vaughn Johnny Cash U2 Iron Maiden The Tea Party Black Sabbath Eric Clapton Classical Just about anything but it's not a genre I listen to very often though from time to time I find myself in that "symphonic" mood which is something that modern music is almost totally lacking. And NO, giving Metallica an orchestra does not ease my craving for intelligent music. Begin Rant: Please note Metallica isn't on this list at all as they are one of the few artists I'm personally boycotting. I download Metallica MP3's just so that I can take pleasure in DELETING their work. As far as I'm concerned, just after their last And Justice For All concert, the entire band was abducted by aliens and replaced with cheap maniquins that have bobbing heads and a backup orchestra. :End Rant
